Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

Far too few people died for this to be the big G going full old testament. A bunch of people lost property in a pretty spectacular fashion in what amounts to continued mismanagement and retardation.

Could be a st. Peter's crucifix pendant. I haven't seen it worn before, the little silver medal pendants are more common afaik. People probably don't wear them much because of how the symbol was taken by satanic cults somewhat recently. Now, you see that symbolism more often with the Vatican, since Peter is quite literally their cornerstone. But, I'm more inclined to think it's a St. Brigid’s Cross.

My reasoning being that it looks like the arms of the cross are offset. Then the pendant may look like an inverted because those crosses are square, and there will be a bit of extra metal so that it joins with the chain.
It's a Brigid cross you stupid fucking idiots.

It's an Irish Catholic thing. She's a ginger who went to Notre Dame. Now will you all shut the fuck up.

It probably is a good thing for the millions of insurance policyholders that don't live in a hellhole with state-mandated infernos. I know I don't want to pick up the bill for their 5 million dollar houses.
Ya, because if they refuse to honor coverage for obviously in coverage incidents to people with millions to pay lawyers they are totally going to honor your coverage. :story:

I have no idea what the odds of an underground critter surviving such a fire might be.
I guess it would depend on how deep and near the flames the burrow was, and for how long it burned nearby.
That was my thought as well. Fire doesn't really heat the ground that deep and most of the fuel in the yard would just be grass.

That makes a lot of smoke though. I'm rooting for the tortoise. I'm gonna be a bit bummed if its lil story ends badly.

Those niggas better up their game if they want to compete for donations to their gofundmes. Maybe add some story about harrowing escapes, have the ladies wear low cut tops. Demand is very much outweighing supply.

All I am asking for is 390k, Reddit gold and some funkopops for my bodily injuries and mental trauma.

California and Californians spend a huge amount of time talking about why nothing can be done, and making lying excuses for it.

A few years ago when there were a ton of fires, in I think 2018 or 2019, PG&E came under some heat for not burying their fucking lines even in fire-prone areas. I will never forget the article that came out, where the Sacramento Bee repeated a PG&E spokesperson's claim that because burying power lines has 10x the cost of stringing them up on poles, if they buried all the lines, power would cost 10x more.

“Underground is about 10 times more expensive than overhead,” said Malashenko, who is the PUC safety and enforcement division director. “If we were to underground (throughout) California, all our rates would go up ten times.”

As if transmission and generation had nothing to do with costs, all the cost was just in the line construction!

And the paper, instead of mercilessly skewering this idiot spokeswoman, took her insanity as gospel and then I had to hear idiots bobbleheading about it for months, durrrrr, power would cost ten times as much so they just can't!

Gay Gavin gets mogged by a woman and looks like an idiot as he tries to whisper talk and say he's trying to talk to Joepedo (who isn't returning his calls):

Motherfucker literally has his psychopath mask of emotional normality crack in the middle of the conversation and starts smiling and laughs a bit at 1:13 mark of the video before quickly realizing and stifling it. Newsome is fucking cooked. If I had the video skills, I would make an edit just highlighting that. Fucking Governor Patrick Bateman indeed.

You think you hate Newsom enough, but you really don't.

And to provide additional context for some of my sperging, NorCal doesn't want to give our water to LA any more than other states do.

LA's problem is LA's problem. If they can't make the area safe (which they can't), then they need to get off the Ass Pounder 4000 and do something about it, but opening a valve in Byron isn't going to magically solve all the problems 400 miles to the south.

And I know they've tried to figure out their own water storage/flood prevention shit, and it hasn't gone well for them.

The LA Basin is a steep and flashy watershed with mountains that are just giant rock piles. They can build dams at some of the canyon outlets, but the dams in that area silt up fast and often create more problems than they solve.

LA shouldn't be there.

I feel it's time to ask a question that should be obvious but no one has really seem to come up with.

Why hasn't California been using desalination plants this whole time to refill their aquafers? And don't give me that crap about them throwing the salt back into the ocean, that's retarded and unnecessary, there's no reason to put the salt back in once it's already been separated. If they were doing it then they're retarded and should've been slapped with a golfing glove and told not to.
They don't even need to do that

They have snow melts in the north and they let it run off into the ocean.

They haven't built a new reservoir in a century.

California is what happens when you let academic experts run things.
