It’s a big, long term issue. When I was out there ten years ago, farmers were constantly freaking out because there wasn’t enough water for them to even BUY, and the reason they were given was because they needed to maintain a minimum level for a pumping station to pump water over the San Gabriel mountains into LA.Wait, what? Can I read something somewhere about it?
So it was a contentious thing, that farmers were going out of business and nobody north of the San Gabriel mountains was allowed to water their lawn or wash their car. It was literally illegal. I was smoking a cigarette outside and got my ass chewed out by a cop for the fire hazard even though I was in an asphalt parking lot in Sacramento.
Northern California was near to fucking rebellion because our water was being stolen so people in LA could have infinity pools overlooking the ocean, and peoples’ livestock were dying
So, the idea of taking that water and dumping it in the ocean, and then LA burning is peak schadenfreude. Burn, you useless fucks
