Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

Foothill Fire started by flares?
Like I said, this wouldn't shock me, you can get a flare gun with 4 shots for like 70$ I think, and if people are pissed, down and out, wouldn't shock me. Surprised nobody tried burning Hollywood proper yet. I mean they threaten jail but everyone is homeless, people have little to lose because they lost everything.

these cunts are going to speak again

I wonder if the arsonists and firebugs...

Are agents of God doing a repeat of Sodom and Gommorah.

“Then the LORD rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the LORD out of heaven.”
Not agents of God....Agents of "God's chosen" reminding their Hollywood puppets who is in charge....

I have a friend in LA but he’s safe. I hope everything goes as well as it can. We’ve had many bushfires in Australia, too. A few years ago I received an emergency text to prepare to evacuate, so I know the feeling.

Good luck, I’ll be thinking of you lot.

Edit: give this a listen if you’re curious as to how the Australian warnings sound, it’s the most terrifying warning I’ve ever heard. Do pardon the funny place names though. It also contains some critical lifesaving advice.

Do you think after this is over if God feels bad He’ll make another rainbow?
No way, rainbows got us into this mess. No more rainbows for a while, even if they are the symbol of God’s promise not to glass us all at once ever again.
Bob Marshall, the chief executive of Whisker Labs, said in an interview with The Times that the areas near the Eaton, Palisades and Hurst fires all saw massive increases in faults in the hours leading up to the fires. Faults on the power grid are caused by tree limbs hitting electrical wires or wires hitting one another, among other causes. Each fault causes a spark.
And this is why the power companies just shut off all the power these days when the wind is anything above a gentle breeze. They can’t just stop buying fleets of new Ford Lightnings to pay for some improvements to the existing infrastructure. They’ll just shut off everything and fuck you for complaining.
You aren't voooting your way out of this, Cali is a brown shithole full of people who vote based on who will funnel more money their way, either through welfare or backroom deals
We voted against gay marriage and look how that turned out.
LMAO WHAT?!
I don’t think even a fire-rated gun safe is meant to withstand a hellcano. Those may have been arranged in a safe at some point before everything burned down.

Rainn Wilson’s house burned down and he was on Instagram preaching about how everyone just needs to be grateful. The most out-of-touch elite bullshit I have ever heard. Not everyone that lost their home has residual checks from The Office. I wish the fire would double back and burn his house again just for those comments.

EDIT: Apparently Dwight’s house burned down in a previous fire, apologies. In my defense, I am very tired.

I can't decide whether it's more sad or hilarious that the California elites will learn nothing, insist that they did everything they could have done to prevent this, and claim that this was exclusively caused by climate change from red states.
I dont get the whole climate change causing wildfires BS. Of course climate change isnt causing the fires. Intentional and unintentional arsonist, electrical line sparking and melting powerline fuses, mechanical failures on vehicles, lighting and the occasional self combusting haybale cause wildfires. Roughly in that order of frequency of occurrence. Climate change is not an ignition source. Erratic weather patterns and less rainfall is making fire seasons longer, sometimes, but not always more intense. Wildfires happen all the time. Just you don't hear about them.

But climate change causing wildfires? That is complete bullshit.

I'm catching up on the thread:

One of the problems with the urban/wildland interface is that a lot of the eucalyptus is on private lands, and the state can't go onto a homeowner's lot and demand that they cut down a specific tree unless it's threatening utilities or some shit. It's also to be noted that a huge amount of land in the area is federal. The state controls something like 3% of the land area in the whole state.

Also, I don't want to dunk on atheists too hard but this seems like a situation where a responsible elected official would call for a Day of Prayer. Maybe it's because local LA reporters are all Mexican but I heard more sincere professions of faith out of the mouths of TV journalists today than I have heard from any elected officials.
