(Sorry, I'm not sure where the best location for this thread is. He's not really a lolcow, so not prospering grounds. More just off topic because I'm discussing a particular thing he did.)

Patrick Bet-David may be one of the worst right-wing grifters out there. Born in Iran (not letting him get off the hook for that) he moved to the US on an H1B visa and set up MLM scams. He then got into the conservative podcaster grift and sucked various figures dicks.

That's not the point of this thread. He has done something recently that is so hilariously retarded that I must share it. He commissioned an expensive painting of him in a room debating historical figures such as MLK, JFK, Lincoln, Tupac, and the Shah of Iran. The two books they're discussing are Atlas Shrugged and the Communist Manifesto. This is one of the most funnily stupid things I've seen someone to do boost their ego. I just needed to share this.

Iranian exile politics are lolcow tier. You have monarchists who are about as relevant as western twitter monarchist, and the insane islamo-communist MEK cult that sterilizes its own members.

Funniest part if that the Shah dynasty isn't even some old blood-line that has ruled for hundreds of years, like the jap's Emperor dynasty or german counts and barons. It was created in 1925, so it's just an excuse to claim power with no substance of traditions.

Sort of. The Qajar Dynasty had become so weak and decentralized by the early 1900s that it could be easily seized by any ambitious warlord, which it was. Reza Shah (the father of the well known Shah) took over and was able to receive the title of Shah from the Iranian legislature, attempting to seek continuity. It wasn't a familial line that extended centuries, but this is much more common throughout history.

The Ayatollahs attacked the concept of a king in Shia Islam, believing it to be contrary to the teachings of the Quran. This was opposed to Iranian history up to that point, which had been under some form of a monarchy for centuries or millennia. This is one of the reasons the idea of an Iranian monarchy has been used as a symbol of resistance. Few Iranian's abroad want an actual return of the previous system, but rather a UK style figurehead one.
Is he Judeo-Christian?
He is Armenian and Assyrian, though I believed he was a Persian Jew for awhile due to his last name.

Yeah, I'll give you that.

I must admit I enjoyed some of his podcast episodes, but he's the most blatant grifter I have ever seen. One of the cringiest PBD moments I have ever seen was when he bought a bunch of memorabilia for Joe Rogan and tried to gift it to him, and even Joe was weirded out. It seemed like he was trying to flex that he can buy stuff.

Gifting someone memorabilia from his favorite comedian (or second favorite) is honestly a really thoughtful gift for someone who just opened a comedy cafe. It's just very very gaudy to do it so so publicly.
It's the complete lack of humility that is noticable.

I saw this too and felt the same. I hate that people I like go on his show for the sake of exposure, and it's exposure to a retarded audience who are desperate to believe he actually believes his own shtick.

Who is the NASCAR guy or whatever in the picture? Dale Earnhart and Richard Petty are the only dead ones I can think of and I don't think it's them. It looks like Jimmy Carr (who, ironically, is not a race car driver.)
