WhatifAltHist / Rudyard Lynch - History youtuber, galaxy brained, no credentials and no sex

Even in videos where the topic is more constrained, I don't think his information is that much better. For instance, in his "Explaining Communism" video, he claims that communism came from the illuminati and 19th century occultism.
Oh absolutely. More focused videos aren’t some panacea for his problems. You could write an entire book on his issues. His insane methodology for source choices alone could be an entire PHD thesis on its own. Not to mention the chapters you could fill with “this is why you don’t do psychedelics.”
I’m just pointing out a big issue that struck me about this video in particular, and the whole of his History 102 content.

Also, has anyone looked into his new co-host? A brief skim through his twitter seemed to show him defending child labor. Dude might be a bit of a cow himself.

A former history professor of mine once said the same, it's not really that schizo a claim.
The problem is that the genetic evidence show Ashkenazi Jews are sematic and not Khazars, its more outdated than insane.. I'm not sure all of those genetic studies are as high of a quality as they make them out to be, but I don't know of any specific problems with this one.

Are you suggesting that a 23-year-old schizophrenic molestation victim is not the best source of historical knowledge

I don't really see how genetic studies disproves the idea of the Khazars converting to Judaism, and doing so to try to remain neutral - it just means the Khazars remained an ethnically distinct group. Not every theory about the Khazars and their ethnogenesis is some schizoid holdover from the 40s.

I think his most glaring issue is his inability to adopt a "historical" attitude when talking about anything. It always comes off as if he is just trying to vaguely reference historical events in order to push his own ideology rather than give an accurate explanation or description of those events.

The Machine Elves have a gift for Rudy from 1993. If you don't know how to Do The Odin, here's a tutorial.

I bet I can guess exactly what Rudy's big brain idea was that made him obsessed with the rat utopia.

It says some of the males started pretending to be female to survive.

Autists become trans to get dates when they can't get them because of "society"

Therefore mouse utopia explains the entire world, and he just confirmation biased his way from there. I literally had this same idea once about LA specifically. I doubt it's a revolutionary idea at all if my dumb ass can think of a version of it.

To me it just seems like another one of those 20th century psychology experiments where they tortured something and then extrapolated nonsense from it to make their careers.
Key flaw in the "mouse utopia" was that while the researchers provided the mice with nesting boxes, fresh food and water, there was practically no enrichment available, not a single running wheel, nothing. (From what I remember.) That explains why some mice started spending all their time grooming themselves, much better than whatever "behavioral sink" is supposed to mean.

Am I allowed to feel bad for him? I feel bad for him. Interesting how many C list influencers are getting mind raped by 7th dimensional Ayahuasca demons lately. He reminds me of an ex-friend Incel-y type dude, bit isolated and weird but normal enough. He started smoking weed, then got into harder psychedelics and started going on about simulation theory and the spirit world and UFOs. Many such cases. There seems to be a certain type of person that just can't use psychedelics without getting spiritually broken.

No one should be doing psychedelics, we learned that lesson from the 1970's.

They really aren’t bad, people just notice schizos taking them and blame the psychedelics instead of the underlying issues the schizo already had. Anyone with a decent head on their shoulders who isn’t abusing the stuff or using it casually will be fine

Indulging for a minute in all of the lore of ayahauscha, I've always heard you should be doing it with a actual tribal shaman who can guide you and explain things to you and in a ritual. I know Rudy is always talking about living in Mexico and being so travelled, but I doubt he did the trip there. I feel like he got knock off ayahauscha from Shaman Steve who lives on 3rd Street and didn't have any guide or anything because he is Rudyard Lynch: 6'4", millionaire playboy, and cultural savior of the west, so obviously he can interperate these things himself.

Based on how he acts these days I don't even think the psychedelics themselves are to blame. More so Rudy's lack of harm reduction. I've known people who have done psychedelics tons of times and they've never mental fucked themselves because they'd take tons of precautions and have sober handlers. Even with kratom Rudy seems to just woof it down in big gulps. He takes high powered psychedelics regularly, inbetween days of chugging octopus mugs worth of kratom and honestly if you ask me he could be on Adderall or someother stimulant too.

So young Rudyard is daily on uppers, downers, and occasionally psychedelics that let you see demons. Pretty sure he's just possessed by a demon in viking cosplay.

Exactly. The drugs themselves are not the problem, it's people being retards and abusing them. The dose makes the poison.
It's disappointing how many people here revert to neocon War on Drugs rhetoric, just because hippies did drugs and they were leftists, and leftism bad therefore drugs bad.
Stuff like psilocybin has helped many people out of clinical depression, and is actually being seriously studied now that the social stigma around psychedelics is slowly waning.
As Alan Watts said: "When you get the message, hang up the phone". Just don't be like Rudyard racking up thousands of dollars in phone bills.

Early in the thread I'd make jokes about the drugs themselves winning because I assumed Rudy was smart enough to actually do harm reduction because he values his brain so much and poking at him with "drugs are bad mmkay" I figured would make him annoyed because he's in this whole Terrence McKenna era, but nope turned out dude's only precaution was maybe drinking some water occasionally lol.

Recreational drug use is not medicinal and ease of availability encourages retardation with them.

Frying your brain to cure depression is like cutting off your hand because you got frostbite. I would say it's about as cheap a way out as suicide but suicide is at least a one-time payment.

Depends on the type of depression. Most people can manage it through diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes, those people don't need it at all and need to actually focus on working on themselves. The kind that is the product of a faulty genetic roll where your brain can't reproduce enough dopamine? The kind that might be brought on by severe trauma? Both might get use out of it. I won't say for certain until more studies are done, but I'm not letting someone who lost their job and broke up with their romantic partner grab shrooms willy nilly, I'm looking at people who are barely helped by their medications.

If it does become a medically viable way for certain brain chemistries, I hope they gatekeep the hell out of it. Rich kids would love to get their hands on an expensive spiritual treatment for their "depression" (mild sadness they feel with afluenza) and would continue to oneshot themselves into the 6th dimension. Or worse, become even more obnoxious hippies.

I agree on the first thing pretty much, but not on the second. He's talking about all the evidence that microdoses of psychedelics have proven to help the mentally ill. The doctor isn't going to be giving Rudy doses to patients to cure their PTSD.

Shocker banning things you don't understand out right because degenerates exist is how this country got so fucking retarded
