Yeah. But the thing is these aren't really Wildfires. At least not the deep wilderness scarcely populated area ones that we are used to. These are hitting suburbia hard. They've lost 10,000 structures. Most of them residential homes. Estimating that you normally see 1-2% that refuse to evacuate when called for. (In any evacuation. Hurricane, Volcano, etc) And maybe doubling that from the shear speed of the early fires? There's going to be a lot more than 10 dead. Plus the State and County's alert system is so fucked up with false alerts yesterday and today that people are probably ignoring it.

The degree of systemic failures mixed with a perfect storm of fire conditions here is horrifying and almost unheard of in the modern era.

I just threw some on a particularly troublesome spot of sidewalk so any deliveries I get don’t result in terrible falls and people walking dogs don’t suffer the same slippery fate. Falling on ice sucks.

It’s a handy tool for frozen fuckery.

The nice house is probably because he knows how to do other shit. Most people in trades pick up on other trades so they can do a moderate to great job doing other things not normally in their scope of work. Hell, being a plumber requires you to be somewhat proficient in electrical wiring, ductwork installation for flue exhausts, ect. Same thing with HVAC technicians. They also charge way too much money for shit, and there's no wiggle room or discussing prices if they quote you for a 3 hour job but their done in an hour. I work in a trade myself and I'll even tell you most of them are fucking tools that make too much ripping people off, but unions are practically the only thing keeping somewhat of a middle class alive.

Also, I am aware that literally all the materials regarding what would be needed for a simple shower install or water heater replacement are through the roof but it's still not right to take advantage of people. And I know people are getting ripped off because if you need something done call three different contractors and watch how all of them give you different estimates. How the fuck does that work?

I'll bet his van is bought on a loan, as well as his house. And if it's not his personal company then the van probably isn't even his. And, we're just assuming he does good work too, he could just be nigger rigging everything and the customer doesn't know, but as long as nothing is leaking, or no gas can be smelled from the gas line he probably had to redo, or no other retarded shit is showing then the customer is just happy the service is done.
