Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

As extremely funny of the idea it would be that there's a rogue organization in the world that wanted to test their new sun beam over the course of multiple day on LA of all places, I highly doubt they would do it over an explosive epicenter.
They didn't. They wanted to test in the wilderness and thought California would be the best bet because nobody would question another wildfire. Unfortunately even space nazis could not fathom the incompetence of everyone in power in California.

To saying that firefighting is socialism now
You know if we grant them that it just means all the "hick" "flyover" capitalist red states are more of a socialist utopia than California could ever hope to be. Since you know they aren't dismissed until needed. If anything California seems to actually be some backwards slave state without functioning social services where whites and jews segregate themselves from Hispanics and where most of the scant black population is enslaved to be actual death legions going by the distro of wealthy neighborhoods burnt vs how few black neighborhoods there are vs more red states. That and the laughable inequality of firefighting protecting mostly the most rich of them.

Tldr it seems like California is actually more regressive than our states despite all the virtue signaling

I greatly enjoy seeing the homes of insufferable out of touch people like Mark Hamill, Paris Hilton, etc. getting burnt to a crisp it's one of the more satisfying things to have happened in the last few years.

It's not that this is going to financially ruin them but I find satisfaction in the thought that this greatly inconveniences their otherwise carefree lives and they are brought back with this reality check that they too are mortal human beings for whom disaster makes no exception.

I can only hope the fires torch down the rest of LA's elite neighbourhoods.

The sun gun or heliobeam is a theoretical orbital weapon, which makes use of a concave mirror mounted on a satellite, to concentrate sunlight onto a small area at the Earth's surface, destroying targets or killing through heat.

In 1929, the German physicist Hermann Oberth developed plans for a space station from which a 100-metre-wide concave mirror could be used to reflect sunlight onto a concentrated point on the earth.

Later during World War II, a group of German scientists at the German Army Artillery proving grounds at Hillersleben began to expand on Oberth's idea of creating a superweapon that could utilize the sun's energy. This so-called "sun gun" (Sonnengewehr) would be part of a space station 8,200 kilometres (5,100 mi) above Earth. The scientists calculated that a huge reflector, made of metallic sodium and with an area of 9 square kilometres (900 ha; 3.5 sq mi), could produce enough focused heat to make an ocean boil or burn a city. After being questioned by officers of the United States, the Germans claimed that the sun gun could be completed within 50 or 100 years.

Ban solar power. It's too easy to weaponize it.

Here's what the fine folks on Bluesky are saying about the fire.
From saying that all of the firefighters are actually black slaves.

To blaming it on Climate Change
View attachment 6846135
To claiming that the cutting of the fire department budget didn't hurt the fight against it.

They really and truly deserve this and anything else that's coming to them.

either the sun is really really fucked up on this camera or something else is happening here

checking the timelapse, I think this is just the sun

however I have no explanation for the weird black bar that seems to be descending upon the camera (could just be debris, but it's slipping over the lens very slowly so im not certain), nor why this camera is so incredibly messed up
did it get torched by flames at some point and narrowly survive?

Not my governor, not my boss. But this is a wild fire situation.
Funny to see the farms turn in to wildland fire & emergency management experts over a just few a days. Hope you all fair better when wild fire becomes a problem in your area, than what's happening in LA.
Power level, I live in an area that's prone to wildfires. In a state that's prone to them, but actually manages the land and encourages good practices. A single day course with the volunteer departments teaches you all the basics you need.
Its all common sense shit that's not on display in California.

It's honestly kind of fascinating. All the buzzwords are there, capitalism bad, socialism good, climate change, racism. It's like a chip on their head constantly feeds them the front page of r/politics. Pretty sure, had you scrolled down a bit further, you would've found something about gays.
well the Patrick Patterson dude is a fag, and he has done some infamous publicity stunts like have a star trek voice actor sign a picture of actual gay porn he had.

current winds are still blowing north, but I think Eaton might actually be starting to suck wind into itself now. This little vortex wasn't here an hour or two ago and it's approximately where the Eaton fire would be located.

This would honestly make a great Hitler's bunker segment "What do you MEAN there was no water in the fucking test site hydrants?! DAS WAR EIN BEFEHL!!"

Everything that can go wrong in a wildfire situation is happening. Naturally, logistics issues and local gov incompetence.
Power level here, certified wildland fire fighter and burn manager @ state level.
You are 100% right. Good to see someone here with a level head for the situation.

Have a feeling the state in question is notable for its potato industry

Oh yeah, those. Are those considered verboten by the wokerazzis now? Can't even keep track.

As someone else here (IIRC) pointed out, this is pretty much our equivalent of the Chernobyl disaster.

People keep bringing up Katrina in terms of damage, but this Katrina in terms of how it’s all made worse by corruption and mismanagement. They knew they would have to deal with fires, they knew how bad they could be and they didn’t do shit. They probably stole the money like Katrina, probably in DEI programs as people brought up the mayor employs her family in bullshit programs.

The only thing different here is that they can’t blame the sitting President for this. Trump isn’t in office, yet. There is no “Trump does’t care about Latinx people”. This is Biden and Harris’s last crisis. Trump gets to call out bad governance how in his previous term Newscum fought with him over nothing, how preventable this is. Faggots like FPS Russia and Woody can cry about Trump “making it political”, but it is political. This is what bad governance looks like. Just like Katrina, you could have made this tragedy more manageable.

People are still fucking virtue signaling right now, too. How Trump is being rude and mean for pointing out how the scale of this is due to pure retardation. How it’s heckin climate change caused by the carbrains. How you shouldn’t call out the incompetent nigger in charge.
The worst outcome is that this another Katrina where ultimately nothing gets fixed.

It’s because modern liberalism is an accumulation of increasingly-contradicting beliefs that requires more and more mental gymnastics to accept.
