Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

Oh for fucks sake I want to see fire tornado videos, not christian larpers acting like jilted prophets, it's 1/3 of the thread at this point.
The next person that brings up Sodom and Gomorrah is getting haunted by Californian fire ghosts.
wow it's super uncool to be happy about these fires burning modern day sinland full of pedophile retards, don't you know people are losing everything they have, and...

wait, it's moving against the wind? How the fuck is it doing that? Am I missing something?
Probably something like the local wind differing from the prevailing wind, or heat just moving as it does. Heat is radiant and can even set things on fire "behind" it in the wind if it's hot enough.

Also, fire is eerie and chaotic and sometimes seems to do things that are actively evil.

So how worried are you about some grand climate exodus to red states
California has been having wildfires since before whitey came here. The injuns who nomadded around there knew how to handle the land.
If there is an exodus, it won't be due to climate but escaping the consequences of voting in retards for decades.

I'm worried about the amount of smog in the air because of this just floating about.
You're not going to die from a bit of dispersed smoke particles. This the same mentality that has caused California to limit controlled burns. Without controlled burns, you get much bigger and destructive fires.

Bring back controlled burns!

Re: Katrina comparison, isn't New Orleans still feeling the effects of it 20 years later since their local government pocketed the relief money for themselves? This part of LA is never going to be the same ever again simply because everything and everyone has failed this area time and time again.

Think the real lesson to be learned here is nigger mayors don't care about the bottom line in times of disaster unless it benefits only themselves. The moment they get power of authority of any kind, they'll gleefully let their own kind die.

If they were the Chinese would have already hunted them to extinction. I think they taste like hot burning poison?
A brief search says they're actually delicious and someone (amazingly enough Chinese) has a video of cooking one. (And I mean coconut crabs, not the acid spitting demon spiders.)

If you ever speak to any national park ranger, hee will go on a rant about how much they hate Smokey the Bear because he managed to convince people that wildfires are not good. when in fact as we all know wildfires are natural and need to occur to stop massive places like the ones we see from taking place.

Serious question does anyone know how I can become a wildlife/wildfire (part time) firefighter in my state? It's clear that climate change will make these fires more common (however incompetence will make them worse), but I want to help...somehow...
Start with your local volunteer firefighting company. Help your local community by putting out the boring, quotidian fires.

The knowledge too handle and stop large destructive wildfires is well known. The public's perception of fire in the landscape is very poor, and likely not to get any better. This makes the job of firefighters and burn managers, like me, much more difficult. Politics and social media is feeding into the issue and getting in the way. Its the politics that's leading to more property loss and death tolls.

Will probably cruise over the 1 million views mark today as a 1-minute clip:

It's comical that Austin roach man is going to be the one exacerbating LA's embarrassments online. Glad he's a mouthpiece for our half of the internet on things like this.

And maybe some Pacific coconut crabs.
I wish those were more prolific, hermit crabs are pretty likeable, and the young are just driven over(smashed & slammed even?) on their tiny little isles as they migrate across roads after breeding seasons. In general hermit crabs are essentially impossible to breed in captivity, but once they're young it would be great to scoop the majority into pet sales and offer as an exotic meat to the west(tropical asians treat them like pets until they're huge, then eat them) while trying to find another environment they could possibly thrive in. The only thing I don't like about the coconut crab is their lack of mobile homing, but their kleptomania kind of makes up for it.

Either way, I know I have that ominous feeling

Why didn't she take the turtle with her?
Because she's a moron.
Fucking Mexican bastards. Get the fuck back to the HOMELAND then you assholes.
I just hope this fire ends Newsom’s political career forever. He was already awful during COVID, but this negligence is just criminal. Even if we take climate change being the cause of this (which is what the Democrats have been saying), it should never have gotten this bad (due to this negligence). Precautions that should have been in place weren’t there, and Newsom is in partial control of his state’s budget and GDP. He had the power to allocate money to fire prevention, and he cut that budget. He’s technically right that he can’t control everything, but it’s so disingenuous of him to act like he has the same amount of power over this as just the average person. By definition, he isn’t. He is the freaking governor. If this actually did happen in a red state, there wouldn’t be this push to blame climate change entirely, and would likely have media talking heads calling for the governor to rightfully resign due to gross incompetence and mismanagement. The climate change excuse doesn’t work when the California governor decided to neglect basic needs like water conservation in his own state, among other things.
Nah he's a Dem, literally blameless for everything
