Game Shows have been a staple of Television since the very early days of its existence, with people always wanting to go on in order to make tons of money in order to blow it all on hookers and drugs, or at the very least make an ass out of themselves and become remembered as a result. Now traditionally, Game Shows have been associated with the elderly, as we have all likely had some old relative who watches the shows when they're not busy doing anything else, but underneath this picture of old people tuning in all the time, there exists an underbelly filled with autism, both good autism and bad autism, troonery, and all sorts of other degeneracy, and this article will be taking a deep dive into the community, and various sections of it. So Strap Up for the deep dive.

As mentioned, by the early 2000s, ATGS would become infested with spam due to the lack of moderation that Usenet had and with the rise of Forums around this time, Ottinger along with another game show fanatic, Chris Clemenson, would create a forum where like ATGS people could discuss game shows, but this time it would be heavily moderated, and that's what happened in December of 2002 with the creation of The Game Show Forum, which by the name of the title was created to be the Game Show Forum to end Game Show Forums.
The website would peak in the mid 2000s as like many other forums it would be killed due to the rise of Reddit, however there is another major factor that led to the death of the forum, and that was in December 2013, when the website moved its base from Invision Power Boards to Simple Machines, the moderators of the site, barring Ottinger who by this point had left his moderation post but continued to be a regular contributor to the website, decided to make the website invitation-only, barring anyone from just simply signing up for a new account, and the website has remained this way ever since, with the site continuing down a slow downward death as the few people still able to post on the website continuing to contribute to the website.
In December of 2012, a new Game Show forum would emerge as a competitor to the Game Show Forum, and that was Game Show Paradise. Likely created by former Game Show Forum members who didn't like how the site had declined by this point, Game Show Paradise is a website that is just about the same as the Game Show Forum, only that there's more sections and its more split up. Game Show Paradise would try to spread its wings during its early days by creating a Twitter account, Facebook account, Tumblr account, Twitter account, and Discord server, but it seems by now that all of these are dead projects, and the site is also mostly quiet, albeit a bit louder than the Game Show Forum since they have registration unlocked.
Besides the big forums that discuss every show, there are forums that are specifically made to discuss specific game shows, and one of those websites is Golden-road.net, created back in 1998 by Marc Green ClockGameJohn and Robert Searcy (who apparently had friction was the prior 2 back in 2007 due to banned a chat moderator, FPGWillyT, for apparently abusing his powers but Searcy had ironically enough abused his powers so he lost his powers.) specifically to discuss The Price is Right. The big drama that they had back in the day was back in 2007-2008, they were staunch fans of Bob Barker, and hated when he retired from the show and Drew Carey took over. They had all sorts of drama and unfunny in jokes, and it peaked in 2008 when longtime producer Roger Dobkowitz was fired from the show for unspecified reasons and Marc Green went on a power trip and banned fucking everything as a result. Today the site has mostly been quiet since those days, but the memories of that drama continue to linger on.
Now these people may not be that interesting, but it is a perfect place to start as it discusses the origins of the community, and as we go on I will dive deeper into the community and the various figures in it who make these people look tame in comparison. In the next section we will discuss the degeneracy that exists within the DeviantArt Game Show community, and all of the furries and other shit you see with DeviantArt but focusing on those within the Game Show community, and how they connect both worlds into a single world.

Founded in the early 90s by former Sale of The Century contestant and Future Jeopardy Contestant Matt Ottinger, but became popular in 1994, Alt.tv.game-shows was a usenet newsgroup where users could discuss any sort of news in regards to game shows, and was also a location where people could play games based on game shows made by other people, and every year since 1994 awards were held for each show. The group would reach the peak of its popularity in the late 90s and early 2000s, but spam and the general rise of Forums replacing Usenet would cause the group to decline rapidly, however people would still post on the group until Google decided to end support to Usenet in February 2024, with this being the last post ever made.

People of Interest
Matt Ottinger

Arguably the Father of the Internet Game Show Community. Matt first appeared as a contestant on Sale of the Century all the way back in 1985, and lost. However he used that fame to host a local quiz show in Lansing, Michigan named Quizbusters for decades until the show ended in 2018. During his tenure hosting, he would create Alt.tv.game-shows, co-create the Game Show Forum, and would appear on Jeopardy in 2004, losing again due to playing against Ken Jennings, who is considered to be the greatest Jeopardy Player in history. Ottinger also arguably started the trend of self-flaggeling with in-jokes, for example in January of 2008 he started a joke on the Game Show Forum where his name would be used like the old Chuck Norris meme.
Marc Green

(Most Recent Picture I could Find on Him during a taping of The Price is Right from 2004)
Marc Green is the founder and co-owner of Golden-Road.net, and his running of the site would make him a friend of former Price is Right Producer Roger Dobkowitz. So Naturally when Dobkowitz was fired from the show, Green was exceptionally pissed over the firing, and he has been involved with many projects that have involved Roger over the years.
Zach Horan (legendneverdies) (aaaa)

Zach Horan is arguably the most infamous member within the Game Show Forum scene, and this is because hes been in all of them, ATGS, Game Show Forum, Game Show Paradise, Jboard.tv, and he's been banned from nearly all of them, and that is because he is a self-admitted troll within the community, constantly fucking with people who the communities that he's in, and his harassing of former game show contestants, in particular female contestants. He's also infamous for a term called the "Celebrity Bucket Kickers" to refer to Game Show figures who have since passed away, something that he's apparently done since June 9, 2006 in regards to 25th anniversary of the death of Allen Ludden. Today Zach mostly posts on the Game Show Paradise site under the name "aaaa".
Casey Abell (Game Show Follies)

https://groups.google.com/g/alt.tv.game-shows/c/Qhsm3FtowUo (A good look at the community's thoughts on him)
his page
Casey Abell was a supposed Pants-shitter who ran a blog called Game Show Follies starting in 2009 which was a very infamous blog due to Casey's own feuds with other bloggers such as Cory Anotado (Who will be talked about in the Game Show Journalists section), Game Show Paradise, and Game Show Garbage (which will be discussed in the Youtube section) and his own erratic actions. The biggest reason why he is controversial is because of his opinions on shows, which range on Armond White levels of contrarianism sometimes and his staunch defending of these takes. Ultimately in 2023 Casey would leave the internet and end Game Show Follies due to illnesses, putting the end to a very controversial man in the community and the a-logging against him.Matt Ottinger
