Anyone whose brain isn't melting out of their ears clearly saw that Jayce was straight and just best friends with Victor.
Hell, I thought Victor might have had a thing for his assistant who was vaporized by the magic bullshit device he built so he was also probably straight. Not that it mattered back in season 1 when the writing was fucking good.
That being said, don't be surprised if they get retconned as gay down the line. It wouldn't be the first time a big company gives in to Twitter, only for it to backfire once they realize it really was just a loud minority trying to get their hots off from their fan fics.
Never change, fandoms. The show might be about Women, with a lesbian relationship, and people are still sperging about the non-canon M/M ship. And here I thought one of the big pros of the series, at least in season 1, was that the writing for the woman and lesbian characters was actually good because they focused on making fleshed-out people instead of shallow Representation(TM).

Fujoshis must be collectively rounded up and gassed. They deserve as much mockery, contempt, and gatekeeping as male coomers and perverts in fandom spaces and this is gonna be a textbook example as to why.
Amazing, isn't it? Season 1 was so incredible people were heralding it as proof western animation could yet be saved. But the LGBTBBQ+ fans and fujos swooped in and turned Season 2 and the entire setting into their personal fapfic under the guise of "representation".... and now the characterizations of almost everyone have been permanently ruined just to placate those horny twitterinas.

Sky had a one-sided liking towards Viktor; it was obvious Viktor didn't much notice her until after her death. But during the Arcane cosmic realm arc, it's clear he did have something there, but it probably wasn't romantic. In any case, fans don't like her because she's a 'black self insert', which, while true, doesn't erase the fact she deserved better.
It was much more subtle in S1 with the 'queer readings'; the examples I posted above show how the fans clearly saw something going on in S2. Ep 8 definitely had homoerotic elements and it didn't help how all of the automatons have female bodies, even when the one attacking Jayce and Mel was Huck, the guy who was first cured by Viktor. People note that he has the same colour scheme was Mel, as if Viktor was trying to 'seduce' Jayce. The autist I posted ITT apparently thinks that during the leering scene, Jayce got 'soft' when Viktor got close when the fucker bares his teeth the entire time. Autists are incapable of reading facial expressions, go figure.
It's the same dynamic as Steve/Bucky from Marvel, which is also a huge ship, and because Cap's relationship with Sharon Carter was basically nonexistent, so people latched onto his relationship with Bucky as it was better developed.

It wouldn't surprise me either; they're hoping they'll show up during the Pride splash arts in February. Viktor has a line in-game where he says, 'Neither friendship nor love could stop this, Jayce' and people JUMPED on the love comment. They're now saying that because of the parallels between this and the official gay couple holding each other the same way in the same colour scheme, that Jayce and Viktor are a couple. It doesn't help that their relationship ended on a 'lighter' note than Cait and Vi fucking in Jinx's old prison cell.

White men stay winning. Ironically, fanfiction is where you'll find the whitest spaces, and even the Asians there are all pale. You'll never see any Indians or Southeast Asians, and fewer blacks, because fujos fucking hate them. Mel is literally a spear-chucker to them because she gets in the way, but one thing to note that if Jayce was any darker, they would NOT be attaching to him as tightly as they do now.
The more that I think about season two the more annoyed I get.
Take Mel, for instance. Her entire arc in season one was about her rejecting her Noxian roots, shunning her mother and her push towards violence, and embracing her identity as a true Piltovian. Her falling in love with Jayce was a part of this- he is the embodiment of everything good about Piltover and she truly begins to love him because of that. She even takes off her Medarda clan ring (you'll note that at the beginning of the season she pines for that same clan's approval) as she votes for peace and independence for Zaun- she is not a Medarda anymore, she is Mel, Councilor of Piltover. She is the fox and not the wolf.
It was a genuinely good arc for a side character that doesn't get a ton of screen time, at least compared to the leads, and it was also a great example of how a female character doesn't have to be physically strong or a fighter to be capable, influential, and powerful. It was genuinely refreshing to see that kind of a character arc when modern animation has been awash in a sea of femininity bashing and shallow girlbossery.
Naturally, season two takes that great character development out back and shoots it in the head. Mel no longer loves Jayce and they act like strangers because they want to pander to the migratory whitecock shippers. She ends up being a badass fighter because God fucking forbid a woman not be a fighter (she can't be a Strong Female Character otherwise). Mel's entire previous dedication to Piltover, built up the entire last season, is gone and dead and she takes no part in any of the politics of post-bombing Piltover. Despite rejecting her Medarda heritage, Noxian roots, and their propensity towards violence being the fucking climax of her entire arc last season, at the end of this season she plasters herself in Medarda Clan symbols and jewelry and heads back to Noxus with a war fleet to take control of her clan by force.
They completely destroyed Mel as a character. They had something genuinely good with her and they ignored it all in favor of making her (like every single character in season 2) a personality-devoid puppet that gets tugged around and awkwardly slotted into the story to achieve the writers' desires and nothing else without regards to characterization, consistency, or making sense.
Some one reccomended me to watch this and I'm glad I did but for not the reasons the people are gushing about it in this thread, so let's start with the core beginning characters Jonx and V for Violent Lesbian. I can't believe the character who I have referred to as looking like one of those crackwhores(jinx) that exclusively fuck black guys unironically ends up with a black guy(albeit in the 'good things happen' dimension). Violent Fisting girl ends up with happa british sniper girl who I actually initially was going to be with that inventor dude jayce completing the lolcycle of lolbertarian tech guy getting an asian/happa wife. The first adoptive Dad who is a joke for dadbods and sexual humor of wanting to fuck older men who resemble bpd girls absent fathers becomes a thic hairy muscular bear/wolfman joke(pure hilarity). Oh and theres that fucking indian woman who keeps jobbing to the maincast even losing her arm (repeatably) to crackwhore girl and ends up becoming her spiritually broken goon even after she murdered her second adoptive dad that the Pajeetress simped for also extremely hilarious. Silco, Mr.rat boy machiavelli ends up becoming a full blown retard who dies for it to crackwhore my favorite line of his is "No she's perfect the way she is, Jinx" when referring to a psychotic impulsive mass murderer who psychbabbles to herself most of the time and can't stick to any course of action or person like the true bpd crackwhore that she is. Jayce(JEIYCE) ends up shacking up with stronk black woman politician and Viktor's romantic interest is also a nonewhite who explodes or something and he becomes a sauron-esque spiritual communist or some bullshit which makes sense because of his stupid slavic accent. The coucil was a perfect representation of any and every political bureaucracy given the steering wheel so no complaints. The Singed guy was pretty good but his motivations were lets say tired? however, he was executed well enough that his 'le tragic backstory' wasn't a dealbreaker. Mel(the stronk politician) apparently didn't fall far from the strong black women tree because she has a warrior queen machiavelli mom who exclusively fucks white twinks which is a very funny eyeroller when you know the fetishistic motivations for that direction made by the FRENCH animators. Some other shit happened that was retarded but this post is going on too long so overall the show was FRENCH out of ten would unironically watch another season of this crap for the Lols alone.
The fact that Violent Fisting girl fights her Hapa inventor/dictator girlfriend all the time is the lesbian violence cherry on top of this hon hon of a magnificent rollercoaster. Dr Sempa was right again!
I am not surprised people on twitter are trying to gaslight everyone that season 2 was good: “It just wasn’t made for you, bigot. Stop complaining while we coom to our gay ships.”
But I am Just confused on how the writing took such a nose dive.
Someone mentioned earlier that both seasons were written back to back, and they had minimal writer staff changes. but the last arch does feel like typical Netflix wok adaptation levels of bad, which to be fair it is, but we all expected better from them

No that didn't happen. In fact its pretty well understood that most of the writing staff was fired/left. Leaving only a few of the lead writers who, as it turns out, were carried hard by those who were fired/left.

I haven't done any research myself, but that does make far more sense. You can easily tell that whomever left was the real talent of the whole project. Now I'm really curious on why they were fired. I doubt it was to cut costs as this project was already bloated.
My best guess? "Creative differences". Aka the woke writters, and and staff pushed them away.

They do that on YouTube, too. Lots of 'you just don't like being spoonfed' or 'you just don't understand!' There's a pseudo breadtuber named Colin who made a video response called, 'Debunking the worst Arcane take I've ever seen' and the guy he was responding to just said he wasn't into YouTube beef. He watched 15 minutes of Colin's video before he tapped out because Colin kept insulting him.
I've known a few Arcane S1 critics like Hexhomos who railed against it but were oddly quiet on S2 but for the JayVik ship (she also said she was going to leave 'the Musk rat website' for Blue Sky and tumblr but the likes and attention were too good so that decision was reversed within a few days).
But I am Just confused on how the writing took such a nose dive.

COVID might've been a reason, but scripts I heard were completed and delayed in 2019, and likely had to be edited again and again. Rumour has it Linke wrote S2 in 72 hours, but it took 47 hours (?) to get that 'dirt under your nails' line, and it took four years in total to write S2. The Gizmodo article shows they were inspired by Marvel, and Infinity War did come out circa 2017, and Endgame 2019, which they took inspiration from. There was a tweet that I unfortunately forgot to link that had Jayce's speech to the crew overlapped with Captain America's speech to the Avengers, and I shit you not, they are down to the bone similar. There are Easter eggs and then there's that.
Something tells me that the storyboard crew and the seasoned writers who actually cleaned up S1 were not there so they just went ahead with what they had, and we got this. It's like comparing Avatar: The Last Airbender to Legend of Korra. The former was lightning in a bottle, and the second was utter trash. Likewise, there are people comparing Cait's arc to Zuko's when Zuko had multiple seasons to actually change and you could SEE his regret and character change. Cait had no such arc. They just should have made her stick to the Sheriff of Piltover arc and have her grapple with the demands of her city and her will to do right by the people. Vi should have rejected the Enforcer badge outright and just went fighting the Chem-barons on her own, with her fighting pit arc her way of dealing with her failures instead of her crying over Cait. Loris, that guy who got the spears in his neck, should have been a sort of crutch who worked at the pits to get her to stop drinking/get her back on track. That would give him the same impact as Grayson or Marcus.
Jayce should not have been sucked into the rune and instead fight with the council over the weaponization of Hextech. If you wanted a proper villain, introduce Camille as her family was the reason why Mel was rich in the first place. She'd be a great foil to Mel, Jayce, and Ambessa. Have Mel's mage plot act as the END of S2, leading us into Noxus, where she would be forced to return to deal with LeBlanc. So much time was wasted on that plot and NO ONE reacts to her being a mage who suddenly has mastery over her powers. Piltover was founded to escape mages and she doesn't realize that fact, either. That would be one reason she would have to leave the city and give her and Jayce a reason to depart.
This season just had no REASONS for anything. Viktor especially. Mage Viktor still has his human skin. What happened to the Hexcore? Did it just give him his human skin back? Was it a different Hexcore? How did he manipulate it? Why was Jayce at the top of the Hexgates when he didn't kill him in that timeline? Did they fight? Who knows, it's never said! Not even through a memory or a line! There's just no fucking text! And Jayce doesn't ask these questions either! He hates Hextech but he's swinging around an Arcane corrupted hammer that DOESN'T infect anything it touches, how very convenient!
I haven't done any research myself, but that does make far more sense. You can easily tell that whomever left was the real talent of the whole project. Now I'm really curious on why they were fired. I doubt it was to cut costs as this project was already bloated.

In one of my posts ITT there's an archived Twitter thread of S1 writers and S2 writers. Ash Brannon, the Pixar writer, was not there for S2, and S2 had new people that were not as accomplished. Overton wrote Ep 8, which had the CaitVi sex scene and that homoerotic scene between Jayce and Viktor.
I've been meaning to post these for a few days but never got around to it. Just general shipping nonsense and a mention of Evan Montiero at the end.
First, this comes from a pooner with the dog-ear zippertits who wants to cosplay as Jayce. Upon rechecking the tweet, the like count decreased, meaning these tweets are usually botted.
Yeah I doubt he had time for any of that. Besides, he would've only been able to see the runic symbols on Viktor's shoulders; the rest are covered by his brace and pants.
Bunt Chugley/Fangfilet is the JayVik version of Krissi Barks (who does CaitVi), where you can find hot takes that go viral. Added bonus is that she's an artist and, as mentioned earlier, her art was signed by Jayce's VA. Now, this was noted on 4chan of all places, but on the board where the fanart of Arcane was posted, someone did a numerical count. There was only one JayVik fanart (that they counted) the rest were CaitVi/general.
Another tweet of hers went viral back in December.
I laughed at this one:
Because it is.
Much has been said of the butterfly motifs in this show. Fangfilet made another viral tweet where she noted that Jayce is one half of a butterfly, and Viktor another, hence the appearance of butterfly wings before their disintegration. This is used as evidence that they were always bonded/soulmates/lovers.
There is also the butterfly that lands next to Viktor in S1 Ep 6, and the general cocoon imagery of the Hexcore.
Hide? They're pretty obvious. Only one who said he was confused, allegedly, was Christian Linke.
Hopefully it's not that same bitch who thought neutron stars and black holes were the same thing.
Makes sense why Nu Viktor looks so fucking ugly: his face looks like the face of a pupa.
Correct: her magic represents the other half of the butterfly's wings there. But we can't have her involved because she's a dirty nigger.
In S1, in the Wiki, Jayce does keep a drawing of Viktor in his journal. This went unnoticed by most fans...but interest in it skyrocketed after S2...and this viral tweet.
Yes, I'm sure with art skills like that, you're the arbiter of what is a 'gay ass mf'.
Shhh, we don't allow reasonable takes here.
Probably because he wanted to personalize the drawing - but no it's just a romantic yearning.
I'm sure the woman LARPing as a man is the judge on who is gay or not:
And in relation to the yearning tweet earlier, here is the original.
Now, I've discussed this elsewhere, but the headcanon and fanfiction of Viktor being trans is rather popular; as of this writing, he has over 1100 fics where he is portrayed as a pooner. This is buttressed by the fact that one of his character designers, Evan Montiero, has either said he INTENDED for him to be trans (don't know how that would get past the head animators or bosses, let alone Riot), or he supports the HEADCANON that he was trans. I got this from a comment I found on AO3 here:
Montiero was mentioned ITT as the African who had TDS. If this is true, we have another rogue character designer saying shit that isn't back up by canon. The reason for this comment was the question was posed as to why the 'canonically trans' tag was used.
Speaking of, on Reddit itself, writers and pooners ask why so many fellow pooners see Viktor as trans. Their answers may surprise you. Archive here.
Beautiful, non traditionally masculine men = women
"Woman is corrupted by 10k years of patriarchy"
"They associate femininity with female genitalia"
> Don't stereotype characters
> This character is trans because they aren't traditionally masculine
Logic.
Get a load of this schizo post:
Long hair = genderless, got it
> Fandom spaces have gotten way less transphobic
Or they have just been taken over and anyone who calls them out gets thrown out. People don't want to step on eggshells. Instead of knee sock trannies who are programmers, it's obese autistic pooners drawing fanart with male characters having zippertits and having meltdowns if you call them women.
TL;DR thank a TDS nigger for making Viktor trans.
Bonus content: here was a comment from Hasan's 'JayVik truther' video, because the man with a $6k Prada purse knows what peak masculinity is.
From a popular tumblr user who became famous for the 'they didn't need to kiss, they ascended as soul mates' post that was everywhere on Pinterest, TikTok and Twitter: Someone had posted on Reddit a story about a guy who was jealous of his male roommate fucking guys at his apartment. He tried asking Reddit if he was homophobic, when people rightfully pointed out that he just wanted to fuck him instead. This story inspired three identical JayVik fics.
Twitter user autisticstevie made this edit - and didn't realize to turn the fucking music down when characters are talking. Naturally, Tiktok-inclined users loved it.
these edits and song choices are very common, if they're not fucking Taylor Swift songs. I swear, nearly all of these edits have songs you'd hear on 13 Reasons Why or Taylor Swift.
Archive here.
Gotta say, it was annoying seeing the Arcane LGBTBBQ+ contingent talk up Katarina as "DOES SHE KISS GIRLS?" today across social media... but imagine my pleasant shock that not just the KatGaren shippers but even general League fans came out in force to swat them down and start calling out both the shipping and "why do they HAVE to be gay?!" crap. I have a little faith restored now for reception to the Noxus show.
There's a running joke/meme in the Arcane community that along with things like the Hexclaw, there's the Hexstrap, a harness that can be powered by a Hextech gem for a dildo. It's exactly what it says. It's very popular on Tiktok, with one video getting six million (lol) views. It's also popped up in a few NSFW animations, artwork and fics. Unsurprisingly, the comments were filled with Arcane tourists and lesbians wanting one. It also pops up here and there in the JayVik community when Viktor is a pooner or uses it because "lol he's the bottom his dick is small".
Here's the original maker on IG:
It's a "meme", it's a "joke", and yet I don't see any men in those comments. Well except for the OP who is a tranny.
In other news, I grabbed these from Maulers subreddit. It appears they cheaped out on S2.
New discourse: Silco being based on Svengali is an anti Semitic stereotype.
This poster, a biracial Arab from Canada, describes such discourse in detail:
She took two separate interviews and put them together. He was asked if Jayce and Viktor were romantic during the Necrit interview. The later half is from another interview where he stated that was the intent from the beginning. This is repeated ad nauseum wherever you go.
Who's flying Confederate flags in Canada? Really, nigga? But you're scared to death of stickers. K. You're free to leave and suck dick elsewhere because you got the flu from some guy's semen (that's not a joke) from a blowjob.
Anyways, here's the Jewish Silco reference:
When Viktor was announced as asexual, the Arcane community collectively lost their shit: the first rage being it was bad to have the token asexual be the disabled man who becomes evil, the second that it was done to "derail" JayVik shippers, neither of which were true. TikTok users cried foul, many of whom were obese white women, seen here:
Yeah, we know you're not getting fucked, sweetheart. Anyways, the ViktorMains subreddit has some fair takes on the situation. On the Arcane subreddit, half were in favour of the declaration, half against.
Correct. That was the Necrit interview where he said that. The asexual comment was from another one where he discusses the show's creation.
Here was the article that people refused to read:
People just want a reason to be mad. And the people getting mad are exactly the tumblr types you imagine them to be under their "asexual" tags .
So, if the asexual stuff didn't do him in, the anti Semitism sure will. He better bring his Palestine flags.
Honestly the bitching about Viktor being asexual is stupid. Personally I think he's choosy on who he wants because his work comes first, but this is retarded. All the people saying this masturbates to NSFW fics and art of him so they're all hypocrites.
It bears repeating:
Get a new ship or get a life. It's so pathetic how obsessed with this stupid non-relationship they are; it's possible that we're seeing modern culture's fruits on display here: They're a bunch of stunted children in adult bodies who either can't bear to not get what they want, or badly crave the power of forcing a writer to give in and bend the knee to them. This is absolutely not normal.
