Pools are 99% about yard aesthetics most of the time over actual use. Though I think they also just seem smaller with satellite images than they actually are.

Good morning firewatchers!

The LA fires have finally made their way to my house in the form of terrible air quality. Visibility from my house towards town is very limited and the mountains beyond are completely obscured by smoky air, which smells like a campfire. I went outside to feed all my animals and now my chest hurts and I’m hacking like a lifelong smoker. You can rest assured that those of us poors who weren’t burnt to a crisp are going to die choking on the ashes of the aristocrats’ mansions.

More rolling power outages in my area have cut internet and cell reception for many people. Just in time for the nighttime temperatures to start getting really low, too. I have had one friend go into early labor over the stress.

Schools are still closed but church isn’t. Contrary to an earlier accusation so inflammatory and bizarre I never even responded, the church I attend does not regularly sacrifice babies to Moloch or host Drag Queen Story Hour or any other such nonsense.

SCE is churning out social media content trying to justify the sympathy shutoffs and people are not having it anymore. The anger is real. It’s worse because some areas had power restored only to lose it again 8 hours later. The scuttlebutt is that shutting everything off so abruptly has had more longterm consequences than anticipated.

Clearly, you've never lived somewhere where Hydrant Pressure was an issue.
Living in NYC, during the days when kids could play in the street in the hydrants, the moment 6 or more hydrants were open within a 6 block radius the entire pressure for the street dropped. And everyone HAD to open the hydrant in front of their own building because they weren't going further away.
