Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

I don't think Newsom is capable of the kind of meaningful and empathetic self-reflection needed to be sorry for his part in this, and I don't think Karen Bass is capable of organizing her thoughts enough to understand why she should be tarred and feathered.
Why should they? Their peons and plebs will just vote for them for their next venture in office without a second thought.

I dunno what the rest of the populace heard from those PSAs, but I at least knew that if you go out camping and such to put out your fires for the safety of everyone and everything around you. The problem with Smokey is all it focused on was human activity, I don't think I've ever heard them talk about lightning strikes causing wildfires and how those are natural as can be even though firefighters will still be on active duty if just to divert fire away from human settlements.

Then again, I'm biased about my sentimentality because I can read shit, and my mother has a stupidly-cute vintage Smokey the Bear teddy bear she kept from her childhood.

(Not her bear itself, but it's very similar to this one.)
Cute bear, but the issues is that you will have natural fires (lightning or even prescribed burns) and then people will put them out. The NPS doesn't care if a part of Yellowstone has a fire due to lighting (they only get involved when it effects structures). However for all the good smokey the bear did for stopping careless fires the forest service went overboard and now people are putting out healthy fires.

Mexico and the US have a firefighting exchange program, we send men and equipment to each other every year, there's nothing unusual about their presence.
International aid is being used, not just a "training" photo op. They still haven't totally stopped the fires with 2 or 3 thousand workers. The winds will start back up soon. What happens after a month? Will the national guard remain to keep the looters out. You try to do any construction they'll just steal out of the worksite.

@KiwiFuzz2

The fish thing with Trump is more his usual messaging. It’s not really about the water and the conservation attempts being retarded because the fish is effectively fucked in the wild and is a regional variant. It’s more how Newsom sued him over stupid shit. How much budget was wasted due to Trump saying “Have your shit under control so half your state doesn’t burn down” and then being sued by Newsom for it.

It’s an issue where Trump can bring attention to more shit because it sounds ridiculous and people will dig or the media loses credibility i.e. Coyotes bringing people across the border.

Likely the Guard will be deployed for a extended period tbh.

Seems like they are making progress in containing Eaton, nothing ever happens.

"Do you find that these individuals [looters] come from the area or from further away?"
"the individuals that are contacting, don't live in those areas"
"If you do not belong in the affected areas, do not go there"
"people with fire arms, narcotics"

This is a good feed
Sign language is such a scam, I would really love if somebody punched those overpaid circus clowns fiddling around in the face but I guess its only fitting to have a clown show present at a LA press conference.

So let me get this straight...

First they denied people insurance for bullshit reasons

Then they drained various reservoirs for bullshit reasons and left them drained.

And funding for fire services were being limited.

Now I wonder who really are setting these fires. Are they connected to these insurance corporations and the government? Is this an indicator of corruption in America to the point where various organizations and the government collaborate to burn down LA?

At first I thought psyop, but now I'm thinking "actually it's literally a racket burning the place down until LA residents submit to their racket".
LA already submits to the racket.

That said, I really wonder how long it will be before Newsom snaps (because his presidential dream is now dead) and starts screaming out loud that a Trump supporter or Trump himself is the person who started the fire, to ruin Gavin's dream of becoming President and put California on it's knees clutching it's spilled out entrails from its slit open stomach so it can't "lead the resistance against Trump" and put the fear in Hollywood to bend the knee to MAGA.

Because you know that's what he is thinking right now. Especially since with Musk and Zuck bending the knee, the DNC can't pull a Laptop from Hell and censor/ban all talk about how Gavin's bullshit policies caused the fire.

The amount of times I've seen flood risk elevation thresholds modified by committees with a heavy insurance bias over the past few years, merely for the sake of banks and brokers (connected to those insurers) to cash in on the change in prices, is honestly astonishing.
Same shit happens with fire risk thresholds. So it is no coincidence that these property owners were all denied insurance around the same time here.

What's different here than with floods is that you can start a fire easy and can avoid losing income streams from your insurance lendees in the process by making it impossible for the property owners to get insurance on their property. You're not just making money off of the mere increase in insurance premiums and the people moving away from such areas because of the change in expense. You're also covering your ass by securing your lendees repayments to insurers (a far bigger problem to them than mortgages not being repaid because if mortgages aren't repaid, they get the property anyway and it's only a shortish term slump in their mortgage pool).

So they do exactly that.
They burn out property owners.
They take a long position.
Easy billions earned to balance their sheets and do due diligence in the process (ironic right? ethics is unironically causing this shit indirectly). Why do I mention the law and ethical issues here? Because they are required by law to balance their sheets, otherwise they risk getting major fines and criminal penalties.

Things like the BASEL accord are unironically causing this shit now.
I have no doubt, rich, cocained-up (hedonistic even heh) financial bootlicker workers, that have to gerrymander their balance sheets or else go to jail, will do even dumber shit than this. Just look at fucking Enron, Lehman, Bear Stearns. They pull strings in all corners, underworld or corporate.
They often will do criminal shit that they can get away with (like murder, embezzlement, fraud and arson) in order to make the balance sheet criminal guillotine, leveraged by the ever seeing eyes of cashed up auditors (who can afford legal costs and major public cases, unlike mere mortgage owners), go away.

"What if any concern with animosity with the incoming Trump administration"
"Actually, I'm not worried about that. I joined in the invitation"
"Spoke directly with the incoming administration"
"I feel like I'll have good relations there"
"Knowing what I know... This is the exact constituency that he was talking to"
"I am confident that this president will come"
"Expecting sever gusts of wind in the coming days"
"Is the city prepared with fire hydrants and water pressure."
"We are prepared"

Where's Luigi when we need him?
Heard he's still pissing in the river now, head bent down, a martyr to the righteous cause....

What the hell are the Red Hot Chili Peppers gonna sing about now?
How that cunt from Lush was a lying whore when she called him a sex pest fake feminist that spewed a bunch of cliched male feminist ally talking points to get her to spread her legs for him.

I've noticed a lot less coverage the past day or two. Like a suspicious lack of cameras and reporting.
Probably nothing.
🌈
It's been making the events much harder to follow, yeah. At this point i'm pretty much only looking at live cameras (of which there are increasingly less, and those remaining seem to be facing the opposite direction of the fire they're supposed to be tracking a good 70% of the time) and a few live tracking websites.
