Yep, this is pretty much what happened. At first I thought it was just a lazy shitpost and was like “haha good one, because my name has the word ‘goon’ in it right?,” but then he got *really* pushy about getting me to click the link, despite the fact that he was just some random fuck with a week-old account that I’d never even interacted with before. Once @Chudborean showed up and said that they had no idea what was going on either (while also confirming that the link did not, in fact, work), I just said “alright fuck this” and sent a report asking a mod to see if the whole exchange seemed as weird to them as it did to me… apparently they agreed with me, but I didn’t think they’d straight-up ban that user for it, fucking lmao. Whoops.

Seriously though, I still don’t know why they even thought it was a good idea to include me, a complete stranger, in that invite. I don’t know shit about the Sharty or its meme-culture, I don’t care about it, and I’ve never even posted in this thread until right now. Dude should have realized how fucking weird a random “goon sesh” invite would look to anyone outside of this community before they sent it, no matter how ironic it was meant to be, especially when you consider how often users have been outed as using DM invites to try to drag other kiwis into shit like diaper-furr roleplay chats in the past... I can’t imagine most people would find the risk of accidentally getting involved with some degenerate shit like that very appealing.

Anyway, I just wanted to corroborate what @Chudborean said and add some context for anyone who was curious. I didn’t realize that this guy was such a, uh, pillar of the community, so I’m sorry they ended up getting banned, even though they were pretty much asking for it and kinda deserved it. In the future, I’d recommend that you guys encourage your most autistic warriors to keep that sort of faggotry limited to strictly within this containment thread, because as we learned today, the alternative will probably just catch them a ban. I’m pretty sure @Null and the rest of the mods would probably appreciate it as well, so give it some thought.
