Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

I'm just saying it's a last resort. There's no recovering anything electronic it gets sprayed on.
This isn't fire fighting inside structures, this is dumping water outside. As long as the building is intact all it's gonna do is kill some plants and corrode anything not-stainless-steel.

Even your car is going to be fine with being doused a couple times just like driving on 101 in the salt spray or the midwest in winter.

Debbie asked for a Ballerina Barbie. Some people shouldn't have kids, I swear. If your little girl asks for a Ballerina Barbie and you get her the Malibu one, you can only expect things to go badly.
Malibu Barbie just wasn't who Debbie was. She was a ballerina; graceful, delicate - they had to go.

Swan Lake Barbies are beautiful but alas I already scramble for display space so I'll have sell some if I decided to get the line.

I sure hope people secured their valuable art and whatnot. The Getty planned for it but idk about private collections. That's one of the tragedies in this fire season.

Ya it's always funny seeing shit burned down on the beach like uh you guys could have boats with pumps putting out fires and pumps going directly into trucks giving you an unlimited supply of water.

The cope of "well seawater can ruin hoses and pumps" or whatever excuses you hear is so pathetic since the other option is everything just burning down.

Truth is that this is 100% on the leadership at every level. You would assume that since CA has wildfires every year they would have a coastal fleet of ships positioned as soon as the fire started especially since it was clear the wind was gonna push it there hours before it did. While yes the actual fires in the brush and trees is going to much harder to fight a lot of the actual stuff that was hitting in the cities was embers or stuff pushed via wind that took time to even get burning I mean we saw how many people lose their house cause lol no water in hydrant when they are like <200 ft from the beach.

You had people save their houses by using a hose or water straight out of their pool + some basic fire retardant stuff off amazon imagine if the lesbian leadership had actually planned properly tons of stuff could've been saved.
What is this fucking fascination with pumping seawater to fight the fires, that the media and internet chucklefucks keep harping on? No they cannot just pump seawater to the hydrants. Because the pumps are not at the sea. They are inland by the reservoirs. There is no infrastructure to draw seawater into the water mains. It's not even a question of damaging anything. It's the system by design does not and cannot work in that direction. Like I said days ago, yes they could park the one fireboat that they have at a pier at high tide, and use it to feed a 6" supply hose to a series of relay fire pumpers to get it to someplace close to a fire. Palisades this might just be possible. but it's really not a workable solution beyond protecting a small neighborhood. And it ties up a ton of apparatus in a situation where they can easily be lost if the wind changes. It's not a good option. And they sure as hell cannot viably pump seawater fifty or a hundred miles inland for the Eaton fire. Other than the Super Scoopers, if the fire is not within reasonable sight of the sea, using seawater just is not viable.

More parts of Santa Monica are having their evac levels downgraded so that's good.
Have you considered evacuating to someplace a bit more damp and fireproof?
If my financial situation were more stable I'd move up to rural WA. I'd have to deal with the rain and the pain-in-the-ass that is traveling to big-box retail areas.

I remember reading somewhere that, when one celeb's house burned down in the Palisades Fire, a lot of German WW2 memorabilia was lost.
FIRMS isn't really showing much activity on either fire. Now, of course if/when the winds increase this could go to shit really fast.
(The blocks are where the satellites have detected the IR signature of the fire)

I really don't like that that spot of heat on the northeast corner of the Palisades Fire, that shit should be doused ASAP.

I think it's more or less the astonishment that someone hasn't figured out a way to utilize seawater in emergencies where normal infrastructure fails. You're literally next to a huge body of water, why hasn't anyone considered making a system to utilize it as a backup in an emergency? It isn't meant to be the front line of defense but in extreme circumstances it would be nice to have, wouldn't it?

"there are still people in our community that instead of saying thank you, look at this as an option to commit crime"
"whether those arrests are for looting... burglary... grand theft... arson... eventually for price gauging... which we've seen at hotels"
"you will be arrested, you will be prosecuted, you will be punished to the full extent of the law"
"At 2 pm today... we'll announce the first charges in a looting case... and an arson case not an arson case with the major fires." - I'm guessing blowtorch guy

"we are going to have billions of dollars coming come into la over the next months and years for the criminals that look at this as an opportunity, let me give you a clear warning... you will be arrested, you will be prosecuted, and we will seek maximum punishment against you"
"I want to tell you that deterrence works"
"If we are actually going to... rebuild it must be based on everyone contributing"
"The warning has teeth behind it."

I see the sacred cow of DEI is living rent free in the heads here. To all the fine white folk here. Why aren't you fighting wildfires?

Because that requires a person too think about others more than themselves.
Because we were told that lesbians do it better and we shouldn't butt in so I learned trades and programming instead.

So, what's the current sitch on conspiracy theories? Why did TPTB burn down LA? Was it to remove Palisades early enough to replace it with an updated Smart City ahead of the Olympic Games 2028? Delta City style?
Was it to burn evidence for Hollywood child rape rings before Trump goes into office and fucks them all up?
Someone at work casually mentioned that some of the fires might be set intentionally to destroy evidence against the Diddy associates.

Money. If you watch this video I posted earlier, you'll find that San Francisco has two hydrant systems:
California is more concerned with giving illegal immigrants free health insurance than investing in infrastructure and protecting their citizens.
