Crime Neil Gaiman Accused of Sexual Assault, Author Denies Allegations

Acclaimed author Neil Gaiman is facing multiple allegations of sexual assault, making him the subject of a police complaint in New Zealand. Gaiman has offered a response as well, refuting the accusations.

Per Tortoise Media, two women have accused Gaiman of sexual assault while in consensual relationships with the author. The allegations go back two decades, but they were first reported on in Tortoise's podcast Master: the allegations against Neil Gaiman, which was released on Wednesday. The women describe allegations of "rough and degrading sex," alleging that these instances were not always consensual.

One of the two accusers, a 23-year-old woman named Scarlett, claims she was sexually assaulted in February 2022 just hours after first meeting Gaiman. According to Scarlett, the assault happened in a bath at Gaiman's New Zealand home where she was hired to work as a nanny for his child. Gaiman says that the two merely "cuddled" and "made out" that day, adding that a three-week sexual relationship ensued, but was entirely consensual. Scarlett insists that Gaiman was "rough and degrading," and reportedly, messages, notes, and accounts from friends support her allegations.

Another accuser, identifying herself as K, says she was an 18-year-old fan when she first met Gaiman at a book signing in Sarasota, Florida, in 2003. K claims that she began a romantic relationship with Gaiman after she turned 20, resulting in engaging in rough sex that she "neither wanted nor enjoyed." It's alleged that one particular incident saw Gaimain forcefully penetrating K despite her objections.

Gaiman has denied this claim as well. The Sandman author maintains that his relationship with K was never unlawful and that he's "disturbed" to be accused of such behavior. According to Gaiman, K's allegations stem from "regret" over the relationship she had when it was over. He also attributed Scarlett's allegations to a condition she has that's associated with false memories, but the Tortoise report noted that this isn't supported by the accuser's medical records.

Additionally, Gaiman has strongly denied all allegations of non-consensual sex at any time with the women accusing him of sexual assault. He also claimed that New Zealand police ignored his offer for assistance with one woman's complaint in 2022, suggesting that shows a lack of substance in the investigation. New Zealand officers have responded by saying they made a "number of attempts to speak to key people as part of this investigation and those efforts remain ongoing." It was added that there are "a number of factors to take into consideration with this case, including location of all parties.”

Gaiman has long been one of pop culture's most revered authors, bringing to life acclaimed stories like The Sandman, Good Omens, and American Gods. Just recently, Netflix has been promoting the upcoming second season of The Sandman, which is based on Gaiman's source material; he also executive produces the series.

Honestly while Gaiman was not on the top of my "insufferable and terminally overhyped geek culture retards I cant wait to get outed as sex predators for my own amusement" list (currently being topped by Wil Wheaton followed by Alan Moore) I cannot deny feeling that little bit jollier with the thought I may never have to hear him mentioned again

All of this seems utterly predictable. There was a whole generation of "comics people" who had a groupie scene around them and constantly put themselves into crazy. They were all progressive male feminist creeps for the public, but it was always clear that they were something else out of the public eye.

The only somewhat surprising thing was that he was still acting like this in 2022 at the age of 62.

Its his hypocrisy that most people are gravitated towards me thinks.

"This is for Sneed you sick fuck...."

Also I just double checked, and it seems that he became massively fucking inescapable in nurd culture some point in 2010-2011 which is when he started appearing in absolutely fucking everything. Nothing of note here, just a weird phenomena that the moment tumblr took off he was showing up everywhere

The only thing worse than a male feminist is a female feminist.
Gaiman's downfall is as sweet as summer wine (edit: couldn't stand that gay phrasing) if you lived through the Tumblr era and subsequent Great Awokening (came about once the Tumblrinas got jobs in the culture industry/politics). Sure, I enjoyed Sandman and Coraline, even the Lucifer comics. But if you had even a passing interest in genre fiction or media, you could not escape this fucker and his brand of Male Feminism. The irony of him being torn apart by the BPD dangerhair fandom he's cultivated for decades is palpable and delicious.
Also, I've said it once, and I'll say it again; the greatest lesson from the MeToo Era is that it is the creepy nerds and dorks that are the real freaks, not the jocks, and we are allowing ourselves to have reality rewritten by whoever works the levers of mass culture. Women think rape is innate to frat boys or toxic men or whatever because the (((snivelling))) and vile dorks that run the media have told them that that is how it is.
Side Note: Any bets on the next Tumblr icon to fall? I could see John Green catching some kind of shit.

If you don't want someone to hurt you and you know they will hurt you if you go near them. Don't go near them. Don't engage with them. Don't travel across a country and complain he fucked you if you knew he was going to fuck you when you got on the plane. It's not rape at that point. It's consensual abuse.
I see what you're getting at, I do, but I have also seen how people get so mentally fucked up by shit that they don't know how to stop. It's why people who were victims of childhood abuse are more likely to be abused as adults. Not only are they more likely to be targeted by people who would put them in those positions again, but the people themselves are familiar with those type of relationships and don't know how to escape (given they never learned how since they couldn't escape as children.)

Is there a reason that pretty much anytime a prominent progressive gets outed as a sex pest it involves poop?

Because it seems like this happens like 75% of the time which is almost certainly much higher than the percentage of the overall population that has a shit fetish.
Poop demons and degradation fetishes.

I've known many women who have experienced very serious abuse and the only way they ever really come to terms with it is to accept they were responsible and consenting in the way I described. Anything else leaves them open to being abused the same way. That's why it's consensual abuse. They would walk back into the situation or find men who would carry on the abuse and they made a choice to not do it any more. If they feel powerless and like they're hypnotized into it then another abuser can come along and do the same thing. It's the choice not to be abused that keeps them safe and that choice can only be made when they accept they made a choice to be abused.

Thats fucking retarded. The rapist isn't the good guy you knuckle dragger. Manipulation is a hell of a drug. And personally I think you're bullshitting because "fuck women". Actually die retard.

Are you retarded? If you don't take responsibility for getting manipulated how do you avoid being manipulated in the future? One of the women spent 3 years talking to Gaiman online, then got her pussy whipped and kept going back while claiming it was sexual abuse. She could have used the block button at any point and walked away and she didn't. She made a choice not to do it. If she doesn't own up to that and accept it then it will happen again and again. She was an adult making a decision and she chose to have an abusive relationship with Gaiman.

You sound angry because people are responsible for their actions and have to accept that if they want to avoid being manipulated and crying rape years later.

The abuser is fundamentally responsible, always. But if I were to make a generalization, I think sometimes we get so caught up in how the world should be and how people should act, how we should be treated, that we forget we have to navigate the world as it really is. When something goes wrong there’s a tendency to want to stay and make things right again, even when it’d be better to leave the situation. A preference for familiarity over the unknown. I don’t know. No doubt a woman who goes back to her abuser is making a mistake, I just think it’s worth trying to understand why people make the mistakes they do.

The abuser being responsible doesn't stop you also being responsible as a victim.
I never said victims can’t take steps to help themselves, I just think there’s more to female behavior than being silly fools who don’t understand consequences. Well, usually. But I digress and I’m sorry for adding to this derail.

Seems kinda redundant to say this but a lot of people underestimate just how badly sexual and emotional abuse can screw a person's mind up for life, especially if it happens when they are vulnerable (i.e. a literal child, mentally ill, already traumatised, etc) and can in a lot of really bad cases straight up railroad them into running right the hell back into these abusive relationships because of how badly their brain chemistry has been irrevocably fucked up even when they have friends and family desperately trying to rescue them. Rape and sexual abuse is not so reviled just because of how much pain and suffering it causes during and in the immediate aftermath of the act. Its because of how it can and all too often does effectively destroy a person for life afterwards no matter how much help they get.

The abuser being responsible doesn't stop you also being responsible as a victim.

If you walk into a crime ridden part of town waving around a new iPhone and you get mugged you are responsible for putting yourself in that situation. If you cannot understand avoiding danger and taking care of your personal safety then you are responsible for what happens to you. Children and retards can't do it, so we take care of them knowing they're vulnerable and can't understand risks properly. 20 year old women should be able to do this and when they get involved with sexual weirdos and don't walk away it's like they're buying a new iPhone and returning to the hood over and over and then complaining they keep getting mugged. Gaiman was flying them to him and they're choosing to go across the country to 'be abused.'

Fool me one, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

I was talking to my idiot sister in law about this, and she actually had a pretty level headed take. These women are with rich and powerful men. They're not going to go away, they don't have leverage against them yet, they haven't worked an angle. But they hate the women their degenerate husband/boyfriend/partners are into because they're something that she can never fulfill. For whatever reason. How to hurt them? Feed them to hubby/boyfriend/partner and get them raped, and then turn around and stand by her man. Young groupie or whatever forever bears that trauma, they'll feel disgusted, marked for life, might not even ever be able to have normal sexual function again at least psychologically. Plus it now starts a whole host of stuff that she can use against him if he ever turns her out.
See Sartre and Simon De Beauvoir although in that case I'm unsure who got who's sloppy seconds

Ever hear the words gullible and naive? Some people have faith in their common man believe it or not. You can't stop abuse just like that.

@Judge Holden thanks for writing this up and it was funny to see The Judge authoring a literary themed thread for some trash sci fi writer.

As far as moore is concerned, i didnt know about the story about the Girls until i read your post but I thought "From Hell" was pretty good. alan moore is completely insane but he strikes me as the kind of guy who wears a wizard cape everywhere, smells like BO, and just rambles about multiverses and shit and thus is pretty harmless to women in general.

So he a british jew scientologist sci fi writer who yaps about being woke on twitter all day! thats enough for me to vote to throw him in a pit on the word of 2 random women. i just saw an ad for that horrifying "masterclass" app with him the other day. looks like they are gonna have to purge this one from the list just like they did with kevin spacey lol.

Abuse will always happen. Making people see they are partially responsible for being abused in situations where they are helps them better avoid further abuse. If you take away any responsibility of the victim putting themselves into these situations then you only encourage further victims. How often do we hear about women getting black out drunk at parties and waking up being fucked? If those women drank responsibility they wouldn't be in that situation. If we never say they're responsible for how much they drink how do they avoid it repeating? They can't and then you end up with more women being fucked when they're blacked out instead of less.

"This was your fault, you got raped and it's your fault for being raped. Don't get raped again." because that helps. Own them with facts and logic for an illogical situation. Of course, some retard maybe even abuser from Spain wouldn't understand the core facets of abuse.

When a crazy lunatic gets in your head and controls you with sex, that's abuse. Willing my ass. No different than beating a dog so it does what you want. You're fucking retarded and Niel Gaimon is a sexual abuser, quite possibly a rapist in a court of law.

The accusations are over the top and sound made up but still wouldn't surprise me if true. Imagining Neil saying those things is funny, surprised the victim of his supposed rape didn't just bust out laughing when she heard him etc.
But he took elocution lessons. I guess that's what we're calling the Tone 40 rundown now.

This is not a nanny. This is obviously an underaged prostitute.
Weird that a high school dropout with no identifiable work history or skills gets this scholarship from Tilda Swinton then ends up matriculating at the University of St. Andrews, one of the most selective schools in the UK. You don't get there by sleeping with common people.

I read one collection of his Sandman stories a friend loaned me back in like 1992 or so. I recall there was something where people were trapped in a diner and being driven insane by Sandman, and a character decides to cure a little lesiban punk rocker of her lesbianism and thus rapes her. That's all of his work I ever had to read to know he was fucked in the head.
That was "24 Hours." They were driven mad by Doctor Destiny, a DC Comics supervillain whose schtick is bringing dreams into the material world. In this story he kind of peels away the layers that people use to conceal their real nature from each other and from themselves, when they aren't being manipulated by him or the Triple Goddess. My favorite bit is the guy whose fantasy is to have sex with a prostitute in his car then throw her out and drive away. Such a petty thing among all the horror is funny. The lesbian is Judy, I think. Not that this justifies everything that happens to her, but before everyone loses their minds she's on the phone with her girlfriend, apologizing for beating her up again. The girlfriend appears later in A Game of You and the two Death miniseries.

Gaiman didn't write Lucifer. That was Mike Carey. I liked Lucifer's whole quest and Carey's effort to create a new mythology, but he developed a habit of resolving things with a deus satanas ex machina that he would only explain after the fact. "What Amenadiel didn't know is that the Silent Zone was created without the Archons so when Lucifer entered the veil shattered and the Tarot deck made contact with Delirium of the Endless who dyed Susano-o-Mikoto's hair pink and made Izanami a chibi!"

Damn Bros I hope she sees this. I doubt either of you have seen a vagina up close since leaving the womb.
