People keep talking about La Niña winds picking up and making things worse… but people were saying that’d happen over the weekend, and it sort of didn’t. Now people are saying it will happen later this week. Am I missing something again? What’s the deal with these constant promises of higher-speed winds that never materialize?

Equally corrupt and more spread-out crime but otherwise spot-on. Mexicans are both smug about their position as the least unstable economy in the region and they control most of the stuff everyone else consumes while willing to do the most demeaning jobs to maintain their economy afloat.
To your average Mexican, Central America may as well be jungles and plantations where the surviving Mayas endure MS-13s. Mexicans affectionately call Central America, 'Chiapas 2' (Chiapas being a southeastern state inhabited by poverty inflicted indigenous peoples with a history of guerrilla.) Mexican cartels kill and whore migrants for fun. Mexicans use Indio as a slur unless they want to monetize their disenfranchised indigenous groups.
Mexicans started making gangs when they got to LA in the 20s, so everyone had to play catch-up.

Mexican stereotypes abound.

  • Finding the easiest way to do nothing if they can get away with it. Not the most effective, not the smartest. I'm talking a Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite approach to life so he can stare at the telly watching his football club that can't win without the referee instead of washing dishes.
  • Being delusional about himself or place in the world. This ranges from making fun of others for being brown to thinking the pathetic excuse that's their national football team will ever amount to anything to saying they are first world.
  • Having no pride. Mexican identity begins and ends with the last four months of the year unless they can cling to another Mexican's success (like Del Toro, Cuaron or Inarritu) or unite hating something/someone else (Emilia Perez or Eugenio Derbez). Mexicans famously don't support anything they make unless its food and generally have a crab in a bucket mindset.
  • 'Gentrifying' large parts of the Southwest and flyover states where they don't even have to pretend to learn English. Add how they butcher it when they do try to speak it.
Honestly, seeing Sheinbaum (why they even picked this bitch?) send firefighters to LA feels like John Redcorn deciding he gives a fuck about Joseph ngl.
