Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

Haven't touched my Switch in months and had it gathering dust in a drawer. Going on a trip and wanted to take it with me and it doesn't turn on or take a charge. :'(

I don't know what's wrong with it, guess the battery fully discharged when it was in storage which somehow fucked it up.
Ended up sending my broken switch to a repair guy who said there was nothing wrong with the hardware. He did say when plugged into a pc it was recognised as a device but he couldn't fix it but it was definitely a software issue.

A couple of hours googling later it turned out it was some weird bootloop thing caused by the RCM exploit (I have an original model exploitable Switch).

After 6 months thinking I had a broken device and sending it away for repair, all I had to do is spend 2 minutes to inject the exploit payload again to bring it to life and knock it out of the bootloop issue. fml

I actually managed to get it apart and install the new stick. I had to drill out the damn screw so the shell has to go, too now.

Of course the internal screws are much higher quality and not secured with goddamn loctite.

I'm assuming you did try to rule out if the jailbreak hack you did wasn't the cause of the brick six months ago, right?

I wonder how hard it will be to preorder the Switch 2, Nintendo is supposed to have delayed launch to ensure it has a large production quantity that would be hard for scalpers to snap up.

Nintendo needs to learn to time there announcements better. If the hardware trailer is being dropped this week it's a horrible week to do it. They did the same thing with the original switch.

I can see this thing being a bitch to get.
No different from any other Nintendo product. Remember how the mini's sold like hot cakes? Or how about Amibos? Hell, even the Wii was out of stock for quite some time.
Doing this right after the Christmas season does not make sense to me.
If it's right before the summer season then it kinda makes sense. Kids are out of school, they need something to do, so rather go outside and touch grass, they have a Switch 2 to keep themselves entertained.

If what we're hearing is true it will release in May or June. If they just do a hardware trailer that's fine but what's probably gonna happen is store fronts are gonna open pre-orders on it, I can see this thing being a bitch to get. It makes perfect sense. Nintendo knows they have a scalper problem. If they launched it just before Christmas there would be no stock anywhere and there will be many crying children and adults super upset that they couldn't get the thing they want. Launching it after Christmas reduces the pressure because many people will put off buying it until Christmas or a birthday, ensuring that the limited stock at launch isn't as big of a deal, and by the time Christmas rolls around there aren't any supply issues. You can blame scalpers for this timing

This is true. I might just hold out on this one unless they announce like a new DKC or something for launch.

Just hope its not called "Switch 2" or just have some sort of letter like "U" or "+". We want an actual creative name. The Switch's name worked because it was an effective name that rolled off the tongue while also speaking about the console's ability to "switch", thus "The Switch" from the standard Home/Portable consoles into a hybrid console.

You may think its not a big deal but I god damn swear that had the Wii U been called anything else, it would have sold significantly better. The name was the beginning of the end for it since many saw it as an accessory to the Wii or just a new model and despite what you may think about the console's other flaws, the start of the snowball was the name.

So yeah, pick a good name, damn it.

Switch 2 is a boring name, but you can’t say it wouldn’t be effective. “You know the Switch, that insanely successful console you know and probably love? Well this is the NEXT GENERATION of that thing.” It’s worked for Playstation for the last 25 years.

Yeah, but thats PS's style and they sort of "made it work" despite the idea of just putting a new digit sounds lazy (maybe its the fact that each playstation console tries an unique style and look)

Nintendo and Microsoft knew better than try to copy that.

Closest Nintendo ever got to something like that was their jump fron Nintendo to SUPER Nintendo. Maybe its the fact "NES" and "SNES" worked well as terms, perhaps?

Edit: Reminds me how Nintendo was going to call the N64 "Ultra 64" so its possible they were considering keeping this theme going until they broke it with N64

Tacking Super, Color, Advance, 3, and U onto their successors wasn't much different than just using numbers. They also did release Super Game Boy 2, so they're not 100% opposed to using that sort of naming convention, even though that's a little different.

Personally I kinda don't want them to call it Switch 2 either, but it is the safest option to ensure people aren't confused while still riding off the Switch brand. Calling it something like Super Switch or Switch 4K would send the wrong message imo.

Well, they considered them primarily the Famicom/Fami and Super Famicom/Supafami. Acronyms don't really work in Japanese. Anyways, I want bland and safe Switch 2 but don't care beyond hoping its not dumb and ridiculous like Wii U or New Nintendo 2DS XL.

Nintendo fans in 2017: “Monkey’s paw, I wish NES games didn’t cost $5 on the new system.”
Well it's a first party game that costs well under $40, wish granted

I didn't buy it but under your argument you might as well say that about all games, regardless of price.
In addition to impeccable arcade-accuracy, Arcade Archive Donkey Kong boasts the following features that you won't find in a pirated MAME rom:

1. Three (3) control options for how the game interprets diagonal inputs
2. Variable rate autofire, including the ability to use different autofire rates on different buttons simultaneously
3. Online leaderboards for both Japanese and International versions (sorry Billy Mitchell, no mailing in fraudulent scores this time)
4. Riveting page-turner of a manual explaining all gameplay features in charming Engrish

There's also an option to rotate the controls 90 degrees so you can play the game in handheld portrait mode with joycons attached. It's an all-new premium Donkey Kong experience that the connoisseur can scarcely afford not to buy.

Anyways, I want bland and safe Switch 2
I'm voting for "Wii 4" or "Nintendo 1024"
