Lord Frogmire Appreciation Thread - The Better Brother (Formerly Known as Synthetic Man Appreciation Thread) - Might have an account here

nothing individual can do about it when society begin to collapse. look at California. Unless many people are willing to literally risk their lives, the devils will never disappear. the truth is that most people are brainwashed or too scared to stand up. best thing an individual can do is to move into a nice area away from all the bad people.
Then be the first to take a stand. If someone is convincing your son that he’s actually a girl? Give them a piece of your fucking mind. Make sure they know to never, ever go near your child again. Just an example, but you have to be willing to do what’s right in a morally bankrupt society. Things have only gotten to this point because people have been far too nice for far too long. You have to make them feel afraid. Dooming accomplishes nothing.

I would like do that, but I don't wants to get arrested/killed. I just moved out the neighborhood at that point. Like if your town is full of nigger criminals, would you fight them and die (especially not enough ppl will side with you), or just move out as soon as possible?

I do feel bad for him putting all that work into his Best/Worst video just for it to get shadowbanned. Feels bad.

That said I really enjoyed his "coping and seething" streams that followed, as while I certainly appreciate his game reviews, his angry ranting and seething at retards and tourists is what I find mostly entertaining from him anyway. While his "I am not a lolcow I'll just silence you!" raging awhile ago was super cringe, it seems like that's a thing of the past at this point.

Also, it's baffling to me that after all these years of Youtubers talking about it, people that watch all these YouTubers and went to his comments still don't know how shadowbanning works, thinking just because they themselves got recommended the video that everything is perfectly fine - I'm subscribed to him, and there were times throughout the day that the video would randomly disappear from my feed, and this was while it was public, and not privated briefly. Also, a Synthetic Man video going over woke games that was stuck at 21K-22K views for several hours? That's not normal in the slightest. That video performed horribly compared to his others, and it's so blatantly non-organic, so it was highly entertaining listening to him yelling at random commenters for this. I consider myself somewhat of a "casual" Synth fan, but this saga was fantastic, even if it was at the expense of a video he worked more than usual on.

Just assuming you're in the USA, sorry if I'm wrong, but I personally think one of the most important things is what the self-defense laws are in your area when it comes to things like home invasions, like are you allowed to shoot an invader, or do you have to retreat, etc.

I don't live there, but I have American friends telling me that it varied by states and circumstance. Some cases the burglar can sue the homeowners and won a huge settlement money.

Just make sure the burglar doesn't leave alive so he won't be able to sue

He seemed to forget about the Flintlock game too though maybe it was just too meh to put in. Despite the new bugs, censorship and easier difficulty the Dead Rising demaster can still be enjoyed compared to a lot of the bad games presented and a lot of the story still plays the same. The SH2 demake was way more blatant with the uglification, modern audience cinematic writing and overall change in gameplay and direction that fighting the same bunch of enemy types every five minutes makes it old really fast
I think everyone forgot about that game considering all the samey slop that comes out every year that is treated like the next big thing when if it and the people who try shill for it would shut their mouths it can just exist as being decent "meh". Of course the flintlock game has way more issues than just being meh but you get the idea but I do wanna rant/sperg on this a bit more since i think Synth might have touched on it. I don't get why these people have to act like every new thing they make is some revolution to the industry when in reality it's the same cobbled together messes they would hate but it's not them backing it and it is also trying to promote some message.

I think people would be a lot more forgiving of some of these "woke" games if they just got humbled and actually accept the humbling instead of chimping out about it on cue. Accept being average most of the time which can go a long way but let me shut up and be done rambling.

Think of all the classics from the GameCube/PS2/Xbox era that people still remember fondly today. Now? Most of these current day games are forgotten within months of their release, and they will eventually be found in throwaway bins at game stores. You're obviously going to have your exceptions, but really that is not the case for most of these generic dark gray game-of-the-month releases.

Also aside from inflated egos from these studios destined to shut down/be laid off, you have these people that will hype up any release at all because they're just happy to get anything even if it's mediocre. It makes no sense because even they will tell you how good all those older games are, yet will lower their standards for whatever the current thing is. Especially if it's from an established franchise - they're just happy to get whatever the next major entry is because it has that name on it, Big example being Star Wars Outlaws. It's an absolute pile of garbage. Yet, we should apparently be grateful we're getting something Star Wars related as opposed to not getting anything.

That is the crazy thing to me and it goes into sort of another thing i said in a thread where a lot of these people like these hyper movement based shooters like your ultrakill or doom eternal but also that ADHD mindset spills into different facets. The attention span of most people especially younger generations is getting lower and lower while these games will be shouted all over twitter and youtube about a month later you wouldn't even think they existed even if they are live service. Some will at best show up to get an update/dlc then die a week later again.

A lot of them have never played any of these older games because people reveal their true intentions if you let them talk. All these people that claim to have nostalgia will eventually tell you they either know nothing about the older media or most of their "memories" are how much of a problem those things were and they desperately want demakes to 'fix' things like SH2 as an example. Also i agree with you there because you can feel the just lack of respect for entertainment with some of these people and they work in these industries. The ground shills you see are just nearly worthless because they are the ones who tell other people to buy the thing while almost never buying themselves. But then you get something that just feels like it shouldn't be made like as you mentioned Star Wars Outlaws. It's crazy how over the years the question of "who was this made for?" has come up frequently.
A lot of people claim to have "nostalgia" for things like the NES, SNES, etc. but weren't even alive when those consoles were commercially relevant. So as for people not knowing of these things from before, that's basically it in my opinion. The glorification of remakes I think if somewhat of an admission that these studios are creatively bankrupt with no new ideas that would sell what they want, and an admission by the audience that they only want to play "old" games, even if it won't be explained that way, even if it's a completely pointless re-release, as long as it looks just close enough to the original, then it's "fine" or "good enough." That Dead Rising remake is a censored, AI-riddled mess, and I cannot fathom how anyone could defend that. One YouTuber I really respect and watch did, and it was so cringe. All I could think is "you're drunk, go lay down and we'll talk tomorrow." Lol

As for Silent Hill 2, the differences are obvious to the "noticers", but it is just close enough to the original that most people won't ask questions, and that's how shit gets infested, just sneak stuff in a little more each time, which is how movies, TV and games got to where they are - being so blatant that everyone can see it. One clear thing is that people seem unaware that SH2R had a DEI consulting company on board, as Synth pointed out in his video, but it wasn't Sweet Baby Inc, and since SBI is "THE" face of DEI consulting companies in the game industry, I think they are fully aware that people won't notice in large numbers, and they were right. YouTubers that make grifting videos about SBI games didn't say anything about this one.

It really took so much destruction in this industry for people to finally notice, and for some of these studios to finally come out against DEI implementation in games. Now whether they genuinely mean it or not, I don't think we'll ever really know, but it took how many years? It took Trump winning the popular vote for these companies to finally do this. What kind of message does this send? Always ensure the Republican US president-elect wins the popular vote, or we're going to ensure all your games and movies suck? At least that's how I see it, but I'm a little cynical.
I wanna think that a few of them actually have played these retro games but let's be honest here i feel a lot at best are from the indie scene. Where it is all the rage to just make the standard retro inspired game and in recentish years we have the PS1 Style that was co opted and overused. They love remakes because it can pander to the lowest common denominator at least how they see it. It's a clean slate for an old game to be represented into a new audience. These creators love it because it's not only a lot of work they don't have to do but it is a new way to take something and revise it.

SH2 is a great example because it's a game that doesn't have far reach for the newer/"modern" audiences yet they felt the need to make a grand stand changing it for them. I think a game like SH2 ironically was a good way to show people how video games can be art and push boundaries but we know what isn't what these people want if they consider video games are but i digress on that since i can rant about that for days.

When you fly too close to the sun you will get burnt as they say. That is the thing about being a "noticer" which i don't consider myself that since people love to make labels and make them negative. We are in an era where you can notice the elephant standing right there in the room juggling and they call you a noticer like it's a bad thing. It's clearly and realistically that the things people call out have been something they just now wanna pretend to see but they were seeing it like other people it's just that they are pressured to not see them. This is where the negative connotations with noticing and calling things out come from and it goes back to a convo i had with a friend. A lot more people than we think see how crazy the world is around them it's only that these certain folks (we know who they are) have tried for years to create a societal pressure to not talk about what is obviously in front of you.

That was a pretty well put together youtube poop. Speaking on Millennial brainrot as Synth pointed out, I still watch some of the old Micheal Rosen YTPs from time to time.

In some places, they are called secondaries, though at this point it's beyond secondary... SUPER SECONDARY.
Gatekeeping is an absolute right that keeps communities healthy.
"large community" ≠ "healthy community"

Yep that was the term for them back in the day along with Pretenders but now i've seen them called Invaders.
"large community" ≠ "healthy community"
Too true right here in fact it's the anti-thesis of a community unless that community is heavily organized and peolpe understand that if it doesn't belong in this spot it belongs in this spot. Kiwi for example has tons of threads that an overlap but it is organized like i said. If you want to exclusively talk about a Chris Chan or Cyraxx as an example there are threads for that and keep that there. The issue with the larger internet and the idea of a larger community is that these people wanna talk about these things everywhere which causes information to be muddled and unfocused because they don't get that it doesn't belong everywhere.

It's as i say all the time this effectively killed subculture because nobody wants to keep their shit in one place anymore.
