Can I ask for some context on who this Benny Johnson grifter dude Null keeps shitting on is? I know he was a former Buzzfeed and Yahoo News editor who plagiarized a bunch of shit and that he runs a frankly disturbing amount of defense for Andrew Tate but does he actually have any political connections/pull with the wider conservative crowd or is he just another retard with a podcast?

I don't think it's much of a problem overall for Texas, this is inside baseball stuff. The Texas state legislature Republicans as a whole have passed a lot of based legislation in the last several sessions and will continue to do so

The app is not profitable. They're doing it because it directly gives them infinite amounts of data on American users and actively allows them to influence American culture. The vapid shit we get on TikTok? It's not on Chinese TikTok, they don't allow it on Chinese TikTok. That's not accidental -- while it's an inexact science (video games do not make children violent), having control of the algorithm gives them some control over the users. Losing control would make the app pointless.
Just ask the left after Elon Musk's takeover of Twitter. There's a reason they're still, STILL, assmad about that. It's not cause running a social media site is their passion, it's because by controlling it they controlled what was talked about -- and what wasn't talked about.
Plus, by shutting it down immediately it causes the most social harm to the US. All those TikTok addicts will immediately be forced into withdrawls. All those grifters and freaks on the site will immediately break containment and try their shit on twitter or youtube shorts. Remember when people realized there was a MASSIVE problem on Tumblr of idiot teenaged girls posting self made child porn (actual porn, not "loli" art), including selling it on premium download sites they linked to? Remember when Tumblr cracked down even a little and containment was broken?
It's going to be like that but for 4/10 35 year old women looking stupid while pointing at someone else's videos playing above their head.
