Acclaimed author Neil Gaiman is facing multiple allegations of sexual assault, making him the subject of a police complaint in New Zealand. Gaiman has offered a response as well, refuting the accusations.

Per Tortoise Media, two women have accused Gaiman of sexual assault while in consensual relationships with the author. The allegations go back two decades, but they were first reported on in Tortoise's podcast Master: the allegations against Neil Gaiman, which was released on Wednesday. The women describe allegations of "rough and degrading sex," alleging that these instances were not always consensual.

One of the two accusers, a 23-year-old woman named Scarlett, claims she was sexually assaulted in February 2022 just hours after first meeting Gaiman. According to Scarlett, the assault happened in a bath at Gaiman's New Zealand home where she was hired to work as a nanny for his child. Gaiman says that the two merely "cuddled" and "made out" that day, adding that a three-week sexual relationship ensued, but was entirely consensual. Scarlett insists that Gaiman was "rough and degrading," and reportedly, messages, notes, and accounts from friends support her allegations.

Another accuser, identifying herself as K, says she was an 18-year-old fan when she first met Gaiman at a book signing in Sarasota, Florida, in 2003. K claims that she began a romantic relationship with Gaiman after she turned 20, resulting in engaging in rough sex that she "neither wanted nor enjoyed." It's alleged that one particular incident saw Gaimain forcefully penetrating K despite her objections.

Gaiman has denied this claim as well. The Sandman author maintains that his relationship with K was never unlawful and that he's "disturbed" to be accused of such behavior. According to Gaiman, K's allegations stem from "regret" over the relationship she had when it was over. He also attributed Scarlett's allegations to a condition she has that's associated with false memories, but the Tortoise report noted that this isn't supported by the accuser's medical records.

Additionally, Gaiman has strongly denied all allegations of non-consensual sex at any time with the women accusing him of sexual assault. He also claimed that New Zealand police ignored his offer for assistance with one woman's complaint in 2022, suggesting that shows a lack of substance in the investigation. New Zealand officers have responded by saying they made a "number of attempts to speak to key people as part of this investigation and those efforts remain ongoing." It was added that there are "a number of factors to take into consideration with this case, including location of all parties.”

Gaiman has long been one of pop culture's most revered authors, bringing to life acclaimed stories like The Sandman, Good Omens, and American Gods. Just recently, Netflix has been promoting the upcoming second season of The Sandman, which is based on Gaiman's source material; he also executive produces the series.

Honestly while Gaiman was not on the top of my "insufferable and terminally overhyped geek culture retards I cant wait to get outed as sex predators for my own amusement" list (currently being topped by Wil Wheaton followed by Alan Moore) I cannot deny feeling that little bit jollier with the thought I may never have to hear him mentioned again

I always run my opinions on rape by a woman to make sure I don't say anything inappropriate. I believe, with the consent of a woman, that rape did not occur.
While I think your posting intention is to create flamebait I'd agree that in a theoretical jury I would struggle convict Gaiman of rape based on the current testimony. Yes deciding to take a bath in a weird outside garden tub in the presence of a strange rich man is a sexually suggestive act. But the question still remains did sexual violence occur and my answer would be likely yes.

Oh yes to the cynical womanhater typical femoids are deceitful opportunistic harlots who will ruin lives with enthusiasm. But no people are generally good, if you treat people right they will usually be good to you. And I wrote it earlier but one accuser can be false witness but multiple people all claiming the same thing that I will believe.

Whatever it actually was well only those directly involved will ever know the truth, but Gaiman could have avoided all of it had he just not stuck his dick in every hole adjacent. Or he could have done what rich horny men do and found a mistress or hired escorts whose job is to keep their lips shut.

Isn't it odd how these people never go for women in their own age group who are sexually confident and/or forward who would be 100% down for having a scrap in the bedroom before getting to the pokey bum stuff.

I wonder why that might be? Can't figure it out...🤷🏻‍♀️
pretty sure you just described Amanda, and turns out Neil was right on the money, up until the divorce she basically found girls for them to fuck. In a way divorcing his wife ended up being the spark that lit the fire.
Honestly its kinda sweet of her to adopt her husband's ancestry as her own
i know you're joking but the weird thing from the articles is that it really does seem they were perfect for each other, she didn't even seem mad about the rapes and was great at damage control. Hell they even have Neil going "i wish amanda was here" during this hitpiece, like as bad as the divorce is its neat that they clearly still hold a bit of a flame for each other. this isn't a branglina style relationship where it was clearly awful the entire time based on the kids own accounts, but a legit powercouple with synergy.
This. Moore is a weirdo hippie who openly drew porno comics about underage girls from Victorian/Edwardian children's books. Everyone knows what he's about and he openly scorns mainstream success and his works being adapted.

I also wouldn't be surprised if half the degenerate shit is just an elaborate PR psyop to keep him free from the normiesphere and he's secretly just a boring hippie guy who does boring hippie guy sex shit.
thats a pretty good theory, Moore apparently thought he'd be able to take the watchmen rights and build his own little universe because DC promised to give him the rights once they stopped printing. He started work on Lost Girls around the time DC gave him the finger. aparently he decided to start talking about being an occult wizard around then too and his family left him. i'd say he mainly just had a mental breakdown in the 90s and was fine with his reputation being in the shitter so never bothered trying to be hip until recently with the watchmen stuff, he pretty much lives in the same small town too right? i doubt we wouldn't have heard if he was raping little girls in his small town by now.
He'll be able to write under pen names or ghost author with his connections
the problem is his output and quality has sunk in the last dozen years, very few things he's written since 2010 would have even sold if it didn't have Neil's name on it.
Also, according to this article he had a massive memorial service at Saint Hill Manor (still the British headquarters of Scientology) after he died, with pupils of a Scientology school in attendance--were he still an SP that would never have happened. Not to mention he and his wife were still married when he died.
exactly, by all accounts David was too powerful so he got a slap on the wrist, and still got full honors when he died and his wife was still put in charge of literally the biggest orgs in the UK, like if you ever saw an anti-drug ad in the UK or went to rehab, chances are Gaiman is the reason it exists. chances are if you ever brought niacin pills and live in the UK, you put some money into the Gaiman coffers.

Beyond that Neil maxed out his level before David got the boot, even other scientologists have said it must have been some nepotism bullshit because it was mainly only the OGs that hit that level at that time.

Weird how we suddenly Believe All Women when it’s someone we hate?

Yes.

Yup. Everything I've ever heard about him involves age-appropriate women of the same hippie burnout type as himself. Never heard a peep about him cruising conventions for young, unstable fans to fuck, unlike Gaiman and Ellis.

To be very generous to Moore he was the writer of the comic not the artist. Maybe Lost Girls made more sense during the early process but neither him nor the publisher had the common sense to throw that Piece of Shit in the trash can. For those who are unaware Lost Girls uses storybook style artwork and frankly it just comes off as something a predator would use for grooming.

This reminded me of Moore's coolest Indie work, the Anti-American.Anti-CIA propaganda short story of a drunknen bald eagle rambling about the Glowie's shenanigans through the decades. That one actually had cool artwork.

Oh sure there is the schadenfreude aspect at play here, but as mentioned before even if he is entirely honest in his response the whole situation and his sexual predilections that he has now confirmed to be true one way or another are still phenomenally skeezy and slimy as all hell. When combined with the near dozen women speaking out as well as the sketchy as hell non-response from Gaiman I am left with either...
  1. A spontaneous conspiracy being formed by spurned consensual partners who were all for being abused and degraded as part of some sex game while also not being paid for being joint nannies/fucktoys until years later where they decide to open themselves up to the risk of defamation lawsuits by lying about the entirely innocent mr gaiman, lawsuits that he is magnanimously not starting up despite having both wealth and a very clear motive to do so, not to mention months to prepare
  2. The women were not lying, and the sexually degenerate creeper who gets off on hurting and controlling women was acting entirely according to his nature and intentionally targeting the most easily manipulated and emotionally weak women he could find to feed his coomer sex slave fantasies, and Gaiman's whimpering response is literally all he can do to vainly cover his ass at this point
If he is innocent, he has been singularly dedicated in making himself look guilty to the point where he deserves this shit for that alone, before we even factor in how he has gleefully been the first to throw stones and lead on mobs against those accused of no-no words and thoughts. If he is guilty....and yeah I straight up think he is fucking guilty at this stage...I hope this shit is just the preamble of whats coming for him next

This is reminding me of Max Landis tbh. Same tribe.
I don't believe there was anything substantial proven against Max Landis. He got brought down during the height of Me Too and via a massive Twitter storm against him started by an actress named Anna Akanas who never claimed to be a victim but had "heard things". If you want to get an idea of how mentally stable she is, watch the following interview on a podcast by her then boyfriend. Hhe ended the relationship shortly after and you can see why as he gets increasingly and comically horrified by the stuff coming out of his girlfriend's mouth as the interview goes on.

Max Landis also tells the story of the time a woman was telling him how Max Landis harassed her to his face, without realising he was Max Landis.

I can't say Max Landis never raped anybody - how could I know? But he strongly came across to me as just an Old School male who would try it on with women and if they were fine with it, he'd take it forward. And that the accusations were either whipped up in the Me Too snowball or just from the "regret is rape" school of thought. It also never had the detail or consistency of this accusation. Of course if you've heard anything more substantial though, let me know and I'll re-evaluate. His chief accuser was the woman in the video above though, which says a lot imo.

The accusations also led to the cancellation of the Dirk Gently Detective Agency series with Elijah Woods and that really pissed me off because it was one of the few shows I thought was genuinely really good. Unlike Neil Gaiman's stitched together profoundness, it was a genuinely original show with some great ideas.

The author is obviously a sex pest but I'm skeptical of the "bathtub incident". If you undress and get into this obviously cursed outdoor bathtub you are accepting that something is going to happen to you. Is it bad? Probably!

Where is the plumbing? Do they just fill it up with buckets, Edwardian style?
A lot of the other incidents take place over multiple visits to his dungeon. I'm not one to ever question Herstory, but why do they come back? Are there any women here willing to explain this behavior?
Well firstly as others have said there is the filter. They pre-select for vulnerable people. That means people uncertain of their own values and place and who lack a support network they can turn to. So you already have a person susceptible to what's coming in a way you and I are less so. In this case, you throw in the added vulnerability of financial insecurity but that doesn't always apply. Now once that person is drawn in there's an initial "love bombing" phrase where they're accepted, made to feel secure, valued, etc. You see how Amanda reportedly brought her backstage at concerts, took her places, asked her to watch her child - showing trust and placing value in the target. Quite plausibly there was a sexual component as well though I think Scarlett hasn't said this so who knows. Humans are social creatures and give weight to the values of the social group around them - whether that be friends, lovers, whatever. Now someone older or from a more stable background has confidence in their own values and modes of behaviour. But others do not. So faced with someone who tells them "this is normal" or "you should have expected this" or "you were giving off the signals / you want this really" doubts themselves and asks is it normal? Did I want this? And that creates a conflict between two viewpoints. The victim's and the abusers. This is where the isolation that cults and abusers use comes in. A person with a support group goes to them and receives affirmation that their view is right: "no, it's not normal" and "what he did was wrong." But our victim doesn't have that. They're just caught between views. And Cognitive Dissonance, believing two contradictory things, is very uncomfortable. It's at this point that the victim either resolves it by rejecting what their abuser says and getting the Hell out of there - which in this case seems to have meant uncertainty where to go or how to live as well as losing maybe her only "friend" (Amanda, who brought her into this and then abandoned her to her husband). Or the victim resolves it by accepting the abuser's version of reality. She did want it, she did give out signals.

It's essentially self-doubt on a deep scale and a lack of support from others. Most people, especially younger people, require the validation of people around them to confirm what is the right interpretation of things. And you'd be amazed how far that can go, even into sexual experiences you know you don't want but allow yourself to say you do to avoid the conflicts both internal and external. The external is easy enough to understand - "I don't want to be beaten", "I don't want to make him angry". But the internal are even more damaging "I wanted this", "I encouraged this". And those internal conflicts persist because the alternative is saying "I'm afraid to take action" or "I don't want to be alone" or whatever fear is driving you deep down.

And a lot of people never face that fear at the time. Which is why only years later when they are no longer around that situation and the cause of the fear is gone, do they re-evaluate with hindsight. And sometimes they don't then, either. It's kind of what @Shiverpeaks was talking about that kicked off that whole pragmatism vs. morality debate. Unless you accept your own part in it, you'll just repeat your victimhood over and over. Assuming all this narrative is true then what Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer did is despicable and wrong. But I doubt they'll ever be prosecuted for it. I would have trouble convicting him myself if I were on the jury. How can I convict someone of rape when the supposed victim is voluntarily going there week after week and sending him text messages saying "I can't stop thinking about you! What have you turned me into?" and calling him "master" in those messages? Maybe on some of the occasions where she claims she told him to stop and he refused, like the other victim who said he forced himself on her when she had a UTI and absolutely was clear she was saying 'no'. But much more difficult on the Scarlett case.

Hhe ended the relationship shortly after and you can see why as he gets increasingly and comically horrified by the stuff coming out of his girlfriend's mouth as the interview goes on.
you mean he's a spineless little faggot right? also just fuck Max Landis, he was an obnoxious kike and Dirk Gently was clearly Max pretending he was writting low budget Doctor Who, the lead was blatantly aping matt smith, whereas the british adaption just matched the tone perfectly, the lead specifically looking like a guy who could be a scam artist or genuinely eccentric

Max Landis also clearly has an account here if you look in his thread where he has some weirdo defending him, i'd say his sperging basically proves the accusations. he goes full Nick Rekieta.

Words can't describe how cathartic it is to see this smug asshat get a fresh dosage of his comeuppance. Live by the deranged BPD tumblr pussy, die by the deranged BPD tumblr pussy. He could be patient zero of DT's/dope sickness based solely on the lack of online asspats right now considering how much time he spent terminally online riding the high of contributing absolutely nothing to society other than being not-JK Rowling to a flock of mentally ill 14 year old girls. It was only a matter of time before he got his just desserts by fucking them too. RIP bozo.

So after Ellis and Gaiman, who's next on the chopping block, Ennis, Moore or someone else?
I think Moore is safe. To be a sex pest, you need to meet people to have sex with, and Moore is an antisocial misanthrope who hates everybody. There's a reason why his ex-wife lesbian cucked him. Garth Ennis is too busy seething from all the times he was mistaken for Warren Ellis.

I would be so fucking happy if its Moore, and honestly he fits the profile pretty spot on given the weird sexual degenerate shit he has been bathing himself in since the 70s.
Ehhh from what I read about him and from paging through Lost Girls out of curiosity sparked by this thread, he's IMO too weird and autistic to care about sex enough to engage in harem degeneracy, and Lost Girls is more misery emotional porn than loli hentai. I imagine Moore inviting horny fangirls to some super sikret midnight ritual which turns out to be just a ritual performed at the gibbous phase of the moon as detailed in Ars Goethica and leaves girls confused at what the hell was that supposed to be, as they weren't expecting that.
