Anime/Manga - Discuss Japanese cartoons and comics here; NO CULTURE WAR DOOMPOSTING!

Made a "Bump" for one of the best anime/manga. Go check out FMA if you haven't. Probably my favorite story made by a female.

I'm watching FMA: Brotherhood with my friend when we meet up. The show is unlike pretty well any anime I've watched. Just the tone is something else man.

Idk Brotherhood gave us one of the best anime openings imo. Very well animated. Original FMA had better action and movement oriented ones like the one I edited. Brotherhood does a good job showcasing its cast and story which is also great. I don't care for "whats better", I like them all, visually.

FMA is a lot better if you read a little into what the Hell its world is even about (alchemy). It's a fun spin on things and alt history.

My biggest problem with FMA '03 was Ed being a worthless moping bitch for 60% of the run time, FMA:B fixed that. I think the anime-only homunculus origin was cooler but the antagonist/Hoenheim origin story was completely forgettable in '03 and merely kind of meh in the normal canon. Brotherhood also had some great fights in the back half while FMA 03 just kind of lingered.

I can't get behind 03's homunculus mechanics because they fuck with the earlier plotlines. Cornello was right, Rose's boyfriend was entirely within reach. "the dead don't come back, keep walking" is just a lie Ed tells himself.

Her boyfriend would've come back incomplete and she could've lost some part of herself even though she wasn't the one performing the alchemy (since it's more likely Cornello may have been stealing souls as part of the exchange, note that we never once saw the other people whose loved ones supposedly came back to life only to leave town). Mind you, Edward didn't learn about what the Homunculi were until after that encounter, so he still wasn't wrong about what he told Rose.

Cornello's implied to not even be using human souls in 03 isn't he? Like he made the fake boyfriend out of a parrot with the stone? He's definitely not doing true resurrections, but I just mean in mechanical terms "this is verifiably the same person but they came back wrong" is a far lesser deterrent against attempted resurrection than "the soul you have requested no longer exists, enjoy your malformed corpse"

New furfag manga by Paru Itagaki got announced. Its called "Taika's reason"

Crime Thriller set in a world where pets are turned into animal people to fight the declining birthrates even though inter-species tensions rise. A teenage girl lives a quiet life with her parents & her pitbull until one fateful day where the dog snaps and kills her dad. To save the dog's life, the shocked teen keeps the killing a secret and disposes the mutilated body of her beloved father. Some time later, her pitbull is turned into an dogman too, now living with the disturbed girl and her mom as a full-fledged family member, seemingly unaware of what happened before. But everything changes when the girl hears the dogman utter chilling words to her: "Hey, let's turn ourselves in."

>Pibble snapping and killing someone in a manga
Is this the first time we see this depicted?

Bro... the meme potential of this... you found found a fucking goldmine

Finished the works of Matsumoto Jiro recently. Some of the most schizophrenic manga I've ever read. Most the time his art is really rough, but he does do some really beautiful panels on occasional.

Reread Tomie recently too. Junji Ito is always a trip. Discovered a historical fiction manga he wrote called Reiri. Which was pretty good but very different from his normal works.

Tried catching up on Rosen Garten Saga since I loved the reaction images back when it first came out. Feels kind of boring now after the 3rd round. The most recent fights are especially lacking.

THAT'S exactly what came to my mind too. :story:

That and...well, consider a moment that this isn't the only concept she's had using Japan's birth rate collapse as a framework. Consider that immigration is being used in order to bandage that problem and niggers are subsequently starting to chew into the social fabric of their society.

And what's the dog we associate the most with niggers?

What could she be saying, kiwis?

I first watched FMA back in 05 and I loved it. Then almost 15 years later I read all the manga and thought it was competent but kinda bland.

Then almost 20 years later I rewatched 03, and holy shit it is still fucking amazing.

Maybe I will rewatch Shamballa soon.

And yeah all FMA songs are better than brotherhood

Ed didn't know at the time, but I just think "came back wrong" is a cooler story beat that lead to Sloth '03 and Wrath '03 which were a lot of the focus of the '03 anime only plot. Compare that to the "homunculus are the bad human bits I have shed off in my quest for godhood" shit the normal canon is on which is some straight up Final Fantasy antagonist shit but isn't very emotionally interesting. I did like normal canon Pride over what they did with the character in '03 though so it isn't all bad.

It's the part after he finds out that irks me. 03 Ed never has the moment that manga Ed had immediately on leaving the gate: "oh, the dead can come back to life, we just had the procedure wrong!" even though in this timeline he would've been right to think that.

Father's schtick is my favorite part of the manga/brotherhood plotline. I find it amusing that this perfect homunculus, this true artificial man born of alchemy, has failed so spectacularly at the first step of understanding that he thinks himself imprisoned by simple existence. The god plan was never going to work because it's a contradiction of terms, he wants to absorb and become "all" while still existing as "one," and it just don't work like that. If it had actually worked he wouldn't have reappeared in final form before hohenheim and the other sacrifices, he would've zero-summed. This idiot thinks he can bypass equivalence by just making a large enough payment. His plan to escape prison is to eat his fellow inmates until he is large enough to eat the warden, then they HAVE to let him go, right? It's hilarious. Funnier still when the "bad" parts he cut off take his capacity for personal growth with them, experiencing arcs of their own while he remains static.

I guess vampire or demon lord ikemen are too "normal", so furry/beastman or non-human type is slowly getting popular. Two years ago

Fall this year, there is a beastman (Eguchi Takuya) and human girl (Iwami Manaka) highschool romance anime. And unspecified time, an invisible man with a blind woman.
The author for later one, Iwatobi Neko, also makes a few manga with a human and a furry (more of yokai and supernatural type) as protag pair. I have no idea why MAL says Neko is a man, meanwhile it's confirmed author is a woman from her older sister. Especially, the author has a Ceberus x Charon manga.

So this manga could be like Drama Queen where a fantastic premise of aliens or furries/ dogfuckers are a metaphor for how niggers/ foreigners/ Americans are ruining Japan?
