"people charging 10,000 a month for 850 square feet will be made the soyjack in the memes online"

Perhaps one day California will declare war on the invasive eucalyptus but that time is yet to arrive.

The more I read about them the more the trees seem like the flora equivalent of cockroaches for better and for worse. Very resilient yet quite annoying ecologically.
You can’t win a war against nature. Cf. the Emu War. Nature always wins.

California would do something retarded like introduce some bug that ‘only eats Eucalyptus’ and then evolves to eat native plants. Or the invent an herbicide that gives everyone cancer. Or they spend a gorillion dollars hiring people to remove the trees only for them to be found to grow faster than they can be removed.

not just A state

make all the jokes about trannys and immigrants if you want, if California was its own nation it would be the 5th largest GDP IN THE WORLD

But seriously newsom sucks and his whole admin is misguided
These types of things don’t make sense because they don’t isolate the state’s contribution to GDP from the contribution largely controlled by the Federal government which is all interstate commerce and exports. Take away those things along with Federally controlled industries and Federal contracts and see what your GDP is then.

Wait, if in-state revenue is around 670 billion, where's the rest of the money coming from?
GDP is a measure of total economic output within a period of time, usually a year

instate revenue is stuff like taxes, government investments, and fines/tolls payed

California may still have a yearly deficit but its debt to citizen ratio is like 10:1

So ok, oficial sources have suddenly become shit. But are there no crazy streamers/daredevils on the prowl? I mean, summer of love taught us that sometimes a lot of times the best source is a rando that happened to be there filming everything.
Notice that half the news conference updates are more police making threats against people going into neighborhoods, flying drones, etc and less about the actual fire?
A lot of curious folk with cameras are going to be afraid to catch a looting charge when they're just out filming.
(One would think the city leaders are more scared of potential looting than the place burning down, the way they go on about it.)
If caught "looting" or "trespassing" or whatever the cops have been told to accuse them of, cameras could then be confiscated.

I heard there's trouble connecting to the internet in some places too, power outages and what have you going on, that might be a factor as well.

But see, when you use a term like “gdp” it used to be understood to reflect the “p” in the term, you know? Like, product, as in, something made.

Now when you talk about California’s super huge gdp, you ought to bear in mind that public sector payrolls count toward that figure.

So let’s look at something more realler, like exports

Oh dang, California’s exports account for 10% of that gdp figure

Pathetic

Its up there with the tree of heaven / tree of hell when it comes to resilience. Trees should be logged hardcore. Maybe it can work as fuel.
