It's been an ongoing process for several years. Congress passed a law that would force ByteDance to either sell it or shut it down. ByteDance sued, the deadline is in a few days, and the case is in front of the Supreme Court right now. The court seems likely to uphold the law; it's telling that ByteDance would rather shut TikTok down than sell it.

I was really taken aback by her being so huffy about Tik Tok not ‘amplifying’ her voice and those of other small creators. It’s not the job of the platform to create interests in any creator. It’s also not their job to shield creators from nasty people or web sites.

She may have a valid point about insurance in the current fire situation but not for the lofty, politically driven reasons she thinks although I won’t argue insurance companies love to delay and deny coverage.

The simple truth is that the insurance burden in the fire stricken areas is staggering and may get worse. I wouldn’t be surprised if a number of companies can’t meet their obligations and go under.

Her 20 something year old parents made childhood Polissa eat all her food, and they're responsible for her being a huge fat ass, not 40 year old Polissa who has made decades of horrible lifestyle choices. Grow the fuck up.

I will give her props however for at least sticking with whatever her fitness routine is after encountering her first awkward moment. She clearly has visions of ozempic making weight loss easy, and her magical transformation into a slim fitness icon propelling her to tiktok superstardom. She's going to find that the journey from 300 - 220lbs will require a great deal more physical exertion and dieting than 90 minutes of seniors water aerobics and putting only two patties in her whattaburger. If she somehow powers through and makes fitness and nutrition an ongoing part of her life I'll be the first to congratulate her. I suspect she'll have abandoned it before Valentine's Day however.

Okay, here's the deal! I tried RedNote... Wonderful videos! Super sweet people! I have some notes, for anyone that hasn't gone on there yet and is thinking about it!

Oh Pissa, you need someone in your Silver Slippers group to help motivate you? I have a few suggestions!!

Most Silver Slippers instructors are young and fit. Maybe if you WENT INTO THE CORRECT POOL you'd be in range to be motivated by the instructor instead of stubbornly going to the hot tub to soak your yeast.

Also, I can absolutely guaran-fuckin'-tee that there's ladies 20 to 30 years your senior who've been in the program for a while who are in VASTLY superior shape to you. You can find motivation from them. When I started training for triathlons as a way to expand upon my autistic fascination with cycling, my mother was my motivation for swimming - she was a life guard in her heyday and always has been my superior when it comes to moving quickly through the water. It's taken me a year of doing laps at ridiculous distances to finally build up the form and endurance to match her. I'm hoping to actually be able to lap her before the end of this year at least once in a 50 lap swim. Just because someone has decades on you doesn't mean they can't still kick your ass from here to kingdom come fitness-wise.
