Since this thread is slow, let's play a game. I saw this on Twitter yesterday, apparently it's a practice question for the LSAT. The person who posted it got it wrong and was asking if other people found it hard like they did.

What's the correct answer?

It's A.

If you guessed anything else you're a retard, and here's why:

B makes an assumption not backed by the text, as does C.

D is true, but already addressed via implication in the last sentence in the paragraph.

E is already implied by the first sentence of the paragraph.

What answer do you think Rusty would give for this question?

It’s clearly A, my guess is Russtard voted B because victim mentality

Discovery Channel presents, retards among us
I can practically hear David Attenborough narrating his pathetic life. "Having finished masturbating to women on Instagram, the bamboon sets his sight on the most prized of his meagre possessions: the keytar. Having been repeatedly rebuffed in the lawsuit aggravated his trauma lumps and making music helps him ease the head tightening, so he can return to lawfare with renewed vigour."

B is the "trick" answer. It sounds like it's directly repeating something from the text - "focus on competitive sports causes most of the...students to turn away from sports" - but it's missing the key phrase "less competitive".

D could probably be argued, since the passage states that a mental aspect of the sport (competitive vs noncompetitive) is influencing whether or not students are participating, but C and E are straight out.

F) WHY DO YOU HATE THE DISABLED?

LSAT questions are dumb like this since most of the answers instantly jump out as obviously wrong. The "trick" answer for this was B because it ALMOST reiterates a sentence directly from the excerpt. That answer says competition causes "most students" to turn away from sports, when the excerpt says something deceptively similar. However, the excerpt says it causes "most of the LESS COMPETITIVE students" to turn away. (Kind of late on this since someone just mentioned it two posts ago.)

This is a ridiculous number of LSAT questions (SAT too). Have three idiotically bogus answers, the real answer, and a trick. Russ could probably eliminate the three gimmes and then fall for the sucker trap every time.

That post is gone from his IG. Whatever was supposed to happen, it apparently did get canceled. Sadface! We were all looking forward to making fun of whatever it was.
it’s been a hot minute since i got to update myself on this thread, but thanks everyone for all the laughs and russupdates since late november! a personal favorite was his brothel x account including himself in “we legal brothel owners” and his attempts at recruitment to his nonexistent brothel.

obsdj: this is absolutely standard russell. when i saw the “blahblah tv show” post while catching up on this thread, i knew i would soon see an update that it was deleted. EVERYTHING russell has posted with intent to hype up a release has been almost immediately deleted within 24-72 hours for the past few years. i don’t know why he even bothers posting these announcements.

I could see right away that it had to be A or D but I could easily go for D simply because I was not familiar with the idea that I had to disregard things that are already supported in the text, and could easily do the opposite and pick something specifically because it is not directly suggested. Fortunately I'm a coward and made no commitment before reading the correct answer, so I am plausibly not a retard and worst case scenario only 50% retarded.

and his album post has been deleted too. looks like no mumble rap for us :(
What a huge update. Cannot wait for his mumble rap to hit the sound waves. Gonna be too legit.

The difference is D is only suggested by the excerpt, while A is directly connected to it. Inferences: phys ed is supposed to develop healthy habits --> excessive focus on competition drives away most of the noncompetitive students --> this is a problem because then they turn into sedentary slugs --> solution: include noncompetitive activities.

I think this is a not close example, an easy question as LSAT questions go. For a fair number of them they still go down to two possibles but it takes a bit more thought to decide between the two. So my strategy (which probably is not optimal) was to do a one pass through to get all the easy ones, then a second pass to work on the close calls. Then if I was just going to waste time thinking about it and might even talk myself out of the right answer, I'd flip a coin for the rest and then leave.

Russtard? He'd answer "6".

But yeah. the answer is obviously "A".
