There will always be danger. Freedom of speech is a meme movement that only ends up doing the exact opposite of what it proposes. Your rights are already eroded by any systematic government in power. You only support the mere IDEA of free speech, but in reality as in RIGHT NOW AS YOU'RE ALIVE it means nothing. You can get arrested for talking, for saying the wrong words. For hate speech and everything between, a cop can decide to ruin your year or your life over his bad day. True free speech would allow more whistleblowers to live free. You’ll never get rid of porn. Humans have probably been drawing tits on stuff since we could grasp a stick. There will always be porn BUT it should always be seen as something non-normal and not fine in polite society.
What’s wrong in current year is
1. how incredibly prevalent and casual and extreme it’s become
2. how young people with no sexual experience are seeing extreme acts that are forming and distorting their sexual preferences
3. The wider impact of the extreme pornification of society.

When it was spank mags and VHS tapes there was a limit to what people were able to get hold of. Some teenage boy might find a few magazines, but that was it. Shopping for porn would be seen as grubby.
Having kids able to see this really extreme stuff so young is a huge issue. There’s also a wider issue, I have said before but we have seen some really grim rape/torture/murder cases in the uk where the defendant used ‘she/he liked it rough’ and got a minimal sentence, that would never have been even tried thirty years ago, it’d be unthinkable.

What do we DO about it? Honestly there isn’t an easy fix. Completely anonymous age verification is possible, but government clearly want to use this to usher in putting ID to all internet use. Porn needs to be pushed back to the fringes again, but I have no idea how to do that.
