Have video games affected the values of the younger generations?

Games like Fortnite and Call of Duty probably wouldn't have had that much of an affect on the values, but I think video games with more focus on the story would have imparted messages onto younger players they wouldn't have otherwise gotten from anywhere else. Similarly, I think TV would have also had a similar influence on them and the generations that came before.

Do you think video games have affected people's values?

Yes, video games are an escape that creates a detachment from reality. Movies did this before video games by doing Hollywood bullshit that isn’t real yet retards still somehow take it as truth.

So while video games are the new art form or whatever they might end up doing more harm than good in the long run.

There's a possibility that for some have, and for others have not. Still, games don't compare to social media, which might be the most impactful thing.

People are constantly changing, even if minimally, but gradually over time, so I can see some kids being affected by some games. Like they've mentioned above, thinking that war/killing is cool, or doing crazy stuff like in GTA.

This still is not an argument against games, if the person is retarded and has no self control, then the problem lies with them and their education.

I disagree, I think the mass adoption of battle passes and gacha mechanics in online games has had significant impact on the values of younger generations.
Mostly in how they view both the value of cash and entertainment.

While FOMO shit may not have any kind of effect on folks like you or I, for a kid it's gonna make all of this useless digital junk seem like it's way more valuable, and thus be more willing to throw 20 - 60 bucks on a new skin or god knows how much on a gocha rolls. Its part of the reason why China has been trying to crack down on this shit. If this shit grabs a hold of them this early, it'll just promote horrible spending habits or worse.

All that being said, this can only happen if it's allowed to happen, and who allows this to happen? Parents.

At the end of the day, any piece of media can effect the values of a child or young adult, but it's parenting that helps them filter out which values are more worthwhile. So if you don't want your kids being indoctrinated by the giant money vacuum, spend some time with the little shits.

Unfortunately yes, stupid people get influenced by made up stories in general more than what happens in the real world, this unfortunately happens because basing your views on reading serious books or looking at data is very boring, so it's much easier to get people to stick with an idea if it that idea has a good story behind it, but if it's any consolation people who get influenced by video games are stupid and should not be taken seriously, how is it any different to base your worldview on video games than basing your beliefs on Harry Potter books? You should never base your ideas on made up stories.

Like they've mentioned above, thinking that war/killing is cool, or doing crazy stuff like in GTA.
I wasn't really referring to that type of influence but it is a valid example. I was more thinking of video games with a story that imparts some sort of message onto the viewer, for example the Fallout games which are about the inevitability of war, the Yakuza series which is about the importance of family and duty, etc.
