Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

The truth is, it was never actually about the environment and if anything they've done several times the harm they would've done if they hadn't started implementing their dumbass policies, barring basic shit like smog prevention through filtration, car addons like catalytic converters. Most of what they've done since then is just pants on head retarded, if not outright malicious.
Their idea of environmentalism is something they hide behind while they fuck you. Regulate everything here so you can’t do anything, yet China and miscellaneously brown countries like India can do whatever they want as these people fuck around and fly in private jets. When the consequences of their malicious policies rear their ugly heads, it’s all “take a minute and relax while your house burns down. Remember, if you weren’t driving around spewing those dang dirty carbons, climate change wouldn’t have set the trees alight! You got yourself in a bad situation…”

It really was never about the environment, it’s about harming the average person as much as possible.

A youtube short (yeah I know) that someone sent me about the Insurance fuckery going on in California and why everything's going to hell in that industry.

Edit: tl;dr, if I understand it right: The Government is price fixing insurance rates instead of allowing them to go up, partially cause they don't believe in capitalism, partially cause they don't want the elites to complain, partially cause doing so artificially inflates taxes. But the insurance companies aren't playing along, because they don't want to take on the risk and financial obligations, and are instead just bailing on the state. So instead of allowing capitalism to react (i.e., really really expensive insurance), they did MORE price fixing, creating their on nationalized fund... which they then vastly vastly underfunded. A fund that's now got tens of thousands of claims from milti million dollar mansions coming in.

Admitting openly now what is actually burning here - the batteries, obviously, and talking about how harmful it is. EPA is trying to claim that the levels of hydrogen fluoride is 'safe' though, lmfao.

Edit: Paper from a few years back showcasing just how bad what's being released is. (Archived)
I really hate Cali but damn that is bad.

The location of the battery plant...

Palisades and Eaton have polluted the air, but seems like Moss Landing aimed for the otters! God is adamant of undoing every single environmental movement LMAO

Hydrogen fluoride is nasty. Mix it in water, it becomes hydrofluoric acid. There's plenty of water in the body, even in the lungs. All those bits inside the lungs are not dry; they have a coating on them, and water's a part of that coating. Now the bit about HF causing scarring in the lungs makes more sense, doesn't it?

Let's read about some more horrible things Hydrogen Fluoride can do to the body.
Despite its irritating vapor, HF may reach dangerous levels without an obvious odor.[5] It interferes with nerve function, meaning that burns may not initially be painful. Accidental exposures can go unnoticed, delaying treatment and increasing the extent and seriousness of the injury.[24] Symptoms of HF exposure include irritation of the eyes, skin, nose, and throat, eye and skin burns, rhinitis, bronchitis, pulmonary edema (fluid buildup in the lungs), and bone damage[25] due to HF strongly interacting with calcium in bones.[26]
Emphasis mine. Ether of those two points are bad enough, but they're related. We'll come back to them. Continuing,
In a concentrated form, HF can cause severe tissue destruction through lesions and mucous membrane damage, but dilute HF is still dangerous because of its high lipid affinity, leading to cellular death of nerves, blood vessels, tendons, bones, and other tissues
Again, emphasis mine, but the point is clear, even dilute HF will fuck you up.

Now, to the point alluded to before. Remember how HF caused bone damage by strongly reacting with the calcium in bones? HF really likes to react with calcium. I mean, HF really, really, really likes calcium. Calcium ions in the body are part of how the nervous system and the nerve channels work. HF so strongly binds calcium, that it meses with your nerves' ability to use the calcium, and so you don't feel pain until its too late.

Reacting with all the available calcium so nerves don't work is where HF gets insidious. Nerves in your body don't just transmit sensations like pain, touch, smell, sight, etc. They are also how the brain controls the muscles in your body. I don't mean just your main motor muscles, I mean every muscle in the body. Can you think of an important muscle in your body that you do not want to lose control of? That's right, your heart.

So, not only will HF dissolve your muscles, blood vessels, bones, and nerves, not only will you not be able to feel that damage until it's far too late, HF can so severely wreck the calcium levels in your body that your brain can't control your heart anymore, and you have a heart attack.

Save the Otters, hang the politicians.
The otters at the nearby wildlife reserve don't deserve the fate in that spoiler. I pray they don't get hurt by the HF fumes coming off the fire. Let the harm of the fires befall the politicians responsible, not innocent otters.
