Canada is a failed state

Kinda hate the fact that Pollievre is going to get caught holding the bag here and smug Liberals are going to pretend it is entirely his fault and not Trudeau openly shit talking Trump for four years and then taking his ball and going home.

Fuck Poilievre.

If he was running on a true "Yeet the Jeets" platform, then I'd agree that the journoscum spindoctoring will be unfair.

But Pierre is a cuck and a coward that is selling another globalist lie that taking a few cents a litre off at the Shell is somehow going to get us our country back.

Check out how fucking corrupt Canada is from the municipal to the federal.

You find this shit from third world shit holes but here it is.

Oh Yeh, these "tiny homes" are literal boxes of recycled cans with no plumbing and electricity & insulation.
If Canada continues to import more Chinks and Poojeets, we would soon be crammed inside shoeboxes.

Which is the rub isn't it. The next 4 years are going to be existential for Canada. The incoming US admistration has said it intends to go full McKinley. Manifest Destiny, from sea to shining sea. BTW the arctic ocean is one of those seas.

It's not enough for Polivier, "if he wins" to articulate an economic reason for Canada to be a thing. The USA is going to make a sweeping cultural demand for North American unification over the next 4 years. Canada will need to articulate a legitimate reason for why it should NOT join the Union. And economic reasons are not enough.

Canada needs to articulate a national identity and culture that not just makes it distinct from the Americans, it needs to be articulated as so distinct, men are willing to die for it.

Honestly i think everyone with a brain knows that Trudeau made Canada shit. the ones who think otherwise really don't matter.
Canada was already awful long before Castro Jr, and it's disingenuous to pretend otherwise. Regardless, he sure went out of his way to make everything even more astronomically worse in every metric possible, although in fairness, it was always going to be a foregone conclusion with all of this gibberish talk of "our values in a democracy."

For someone who admired Canada and saw it through a Turd World Country, this is sad to agree; but ultimately it is true.

The talk about Canadian politeness and such may be funny, but perhaps the comfort and "welcoming" to strangers will be Canada's undoing - if not reversed in time.

This. He couldn't grovel any harder to our invaders if he tried.

quantitative tightening is over in Canada, according to BoC. Canada is the first nation to end their QT and slowly begin QE again.

We are passed fucked

OTTAWA, Jan 16 (Reuters) - The Bank of Canada will soon announce the end of its quantitative tightening program, deputy governor Toni Gravelle said on Thursday, making it one of the first central banks globally to stop unwinding pandemic-era asset purchases.
The BoC, which had pumped massive liquidity into the system, began reducing the size of its balance sheet in April 2022, mainly through reducing settlement balances, or liabilities.

"We expect to announce the end of QT and the associated restart of our business-as-usual asset purchases in the first half of this year," Gravelle said in a speech in Toronto.
The bank had previously indicated the program would end at some point in 2025. This would help the bank resume normal bond purchases and maintain a prudent level of settlement balances.
An effective settlement balance level gives the bank more room for injecting money during times of economic crisis.

Gravelle said the bank felt the ideal level of settlement balances was between C$50 billion and C$70 billion, below the current C$130 billion.
"We expect settlement balances to reach our new estimated range around mid-year," he said, adding that the bank would start normal asset purchase program around that time.
The asset purchase program does not mean that the bank is offering economic stimulus again as it did during the pandemic, he underlined.

"Our normal asset purchases before the pandemic were not QE (Quantitative Easing). And our normal asset purchases after QT ends will not be QE either," he added.
The composition of the assets will be broader, comprising not only Government of Canada bonds, but also government treasury bills and term repos.
The bank will aim to have term repos and treasury bills in almost the equal amount as its floating-rate liabilities, which will include settlement balances, he said.

The amount of government bonds te bank holds will also be ideally equal to the currency in circulation, he said, but cautioned that the ideal overall asset composition might not be achieved until around 2030.
The Government of Canada bond purchases would start toward the end of 2026 at the earliest, he said.

Tying immigration to housing availability *IS* a Yeet the Jeets platform though.

Anyway, shit could potentially get even more insane. Pretty much right after Justin made his prorogation announcement, a court challenge was filed arguing that the prorogation was motivated by partisan interest . Justin himself fucked up during the press conference - during questions he changed his motivations for the prorogation from "giving a deadlocked Parliament time to reset" to "giving the LPC free time to run a leadership campaign". The UK has previously made a court judgement that prorogation to salvage the ruling party is not in constitutional good faith, and this Westminster precedent is now being tested in court here.
The government has argued that the challenge is not urgent, obviously trying to drag things out. The courts have just now disagreed with that argument and have called for an expedited ruling that could potentially force Parliament back into session in February - before the Liberals have managed to get their shit together with their leadership race.

How the fuck does Canada decide quantative easing despite inflation being apparent?! Better stock on enough silver and gold to keep your wealth because soon, Canada could eventually have an inflation similar to that of Venezuela in 2020, or worse, Weimar Republic or Zimbabwe.

Easy, Canada is trying to become a third world country like India. This is super hard when their currency still has value and labor is worth more than in Mumbai. Gotta print print print that dosh until Canadians work for third world wages too.

Canada could very well collapse in the ten years. This country is barely even even recognizable after nearly a decade of Trudeau, and not in any pleasant way. So many Canadians are in utter denial because they cling on to an outdated vision of the nation, which has left me (and I imagine many others) utterly alienated and detached. I wouldn't give my life to defend the Laurentian Elite's post-national dystopia.

Volga Germans (Ukrainians)
mein nigger, please tell me that is a joke.

Has Canada ever not been shit? In my almost 25 years of life experience in this country I can't remember a time where it was ever good.
I remember my social studies class explicitly teaching how to identify and be critical of propaganda even from the CBC and being proud that I lived somewhere that taught people to use their fucking brains. Not to distrust authority, but always be ready to find it going astray or getting greedy.

A lot of our media put out a kind of understated, humble national culture that I admired. If you wanted risk and excitement, you moved South. If you wanted safety (no niggers) and a slower pace you stayed North.

We didn't and don't (except for Robertson screw heads) have any knock-it-out-of-the-park things to brag about, but it was very common to find Can-Am collaborations where there were no fuck-ups on our part of the deal, just solid contributions.

I'm still shocked it only took twenty years to chuck all that overboard.

I am genuinely shocked that there are Liberals willingly wanting to run to be the next Kim Campbell.

I can't tell if they just want to graft from the Liberal Party coffers, or if they are genuinely delusional in thinking they have a chance to become the next PM whenever the election comes up
Having "Former Prime Minister of Canada" will go a long way when getting paid speaking engagements after they're voted out.

Tying immigration to housing availability *IS* a Yeet the Jeets platform though.

All the "Housing" talk from both Trudeau and Poilievre is just a politically correct YT-filteresque stand-in for mass immigration and the Great Replacement run amok.

Housing isn't even a federal jurisdiction. And even it if it was, the Prime Minister shouldn't be involved in promises to build more houses or to fuck around with incentives for corrupt developers to skim more.

The "immigration tied to housing" is the Canadian cope equivalent of Trump mass deporting 60 gorillion illegals while also importing entire factories worth of "high-skilled" H1B rapists to pay back his buddy Elon.

All I've seen personally wrt all this "We have a Housing Emergency!" talk since the economy went tits up for Trudeau 2-3 years ago is that it has allowed provincial and municipal bodies to cry "But but but, we need more housing yesterday! Don't be a NIMBY!" whenever legitimate local and city planning concerns arise over the latest scummy developer proposals. It's essentially quashed any limited safeguards and community input that previously existed, running roughshod because we need "Houses! Houses! Houses!"

I'm talking about building ungodly twenty story towers on parkland. Or squeezing in 6 story "senior's condos" on to sleepy residential corner lots among elementary schools and single family homes.

Has Canada ever not been shit? In my almost 25 years of life experience in this country I can't remember a time where it was ever good.

There was a brief period about a decade+ ago under Harper where the loonie reached parity with the USD due to strong energy exports and persisting sluggishness down south from remaining fallout of the subprime mortgage bubble collapse.

That was pretty fun for anyone leaving the country for any length.

There was also a narrative in 2008 that Chretien/Martin/Harper's stodgy cautious bank regulations kept Canada from much of the brunt of the 2008 recession. I recall much gloating over how astute we were at the time not to be so cavalier.

Not sure how true that actual narrative was though. I have little faith in the resiliency, independence and diversity of the Big Six Canadian banks today in 2025 even if nothing has changed with regulations over the proceeding decades.
