You keep doing the thing where you leave out the actual immoral things Elon did that are the reason why he is so widely disliked and act like he's somehow an innocent victim of jealous haters.
He made all kinds of ridiculous claims about DOGE, and whether he got paid or not doesn't matter. He advertised it to his audience, and as a result people lost money. Do you not know how pump and dumps work? Some coins get farmed over and over instead of just once, and DOGE is one of them.
>You shouldn't fall for a retard like Musk.
Yeah, but Musk shouldn't facilitate scamming people either.
The two aren't mutually exclusive. You can say the scammer is a piece of shit for preying on people AND at the same time not care about the people who fell for it because you have to be retarded to become a victim.
But Musk’s lawyers hit back, saying “there is nothing unlawful about tweeting words of support for, or funny pictures about, a legitimate cryptocurrency that continues to hold a market cap of nearly $10 billion.”
I think what you and some others fail to understand is that there are a billion projects out there that are way more viable and interesting than Dogecoin and ones where he could make substantially more money - if he really wanted to "market manipulate" shit he'd just accept an offer to be on the board of some project that is way more legitimate than Dogecoin. The fact he didn't really mention any other project besides Dogecoin isn't really "market manipulation" as some would like to call it but rather a way of talking about cryptocurrency without talking about it seriously and he has (as far as I can tell) repeatedly warned people about investing in cryptocurrency - the reason why he would talk about Dogecoin instead of any other project is because he probably realizes that people will throw money towards any project he mentions and he doesn't want to get involved in the part when they fail. Besides that he has also said (which I agree with, at least at the time he said it) that cryptocurrency is currently too infantile to be a viable replacement for money.
He has also been open about the fact that he exerts no meaningful control over Dogecoin:
He has also criticized the distribution of the tokens as being too concentrated among large holders - this would be the equivalent of openly shitting on Apple stock because Tim Cook and the c-suite executives own too much stock. No one who wants to do "price manipulation" would say shit like this because its an unrecoverable criticism:
Only total retards would not understand what is going on and very likely why he only toys around with mentioning Dogecoin compared to any other project, because its a stupid/harmless/meaningless one with no lofty goals or ambitions to change the world:
It isn't a project that is designed to work on human opinion (even if his Tweets may bolster its price at times). There are projects designed like that but Dogecoin is not one of them. It's a proof of work cryptocurrency, It's a computer program:
You can look through his mentions of it here:
https://x.com/search?q=from:elonmusk dogecoin&src=typed_query There's nothing there telling people to buy it or saying the price will reach some higher number or as you said: "He made all kinds of ridiculous claims about Doge" - where are they? Unless he has deleted tweets then I can't find them.
The fact of the matter is that if he really wanted to "manipulate the price" of Dogecoin he would publicly reveal he has substantial holdings in it and also incorporate it into Twitter as a form of payment rails - people (dogecoin holders) have hoped he would do this but the underlying system that Dogecoin runs on cannot handle any sizable number of transactions. It's throughput is really low and it lacks capabilities of many modern blockchains. Doing anything to change that would require the agreement of cabals of miners who have a vested interest to keep their mining hardware profitable.
He'd easily be able to just join with a legitimate project or start his own and instantly get billions of dollars in capital. Him mentioning dogecoin is nothing more than a joke.
