I think back to 2015 at the very beginning when a gay coworker of mine very confidently stated “he can’t win, he’s alienated too many people.”

I think of all the people who have come around to him, and it makes me think, maybe people are just tired of feeling negative? Then they “give maga a chance” and stop thinking the worst possible thing about every single thing regarding the right. And then it feels like a weight off their shoulders to let go of those emotions. And they wish they had done so sooner.

That’s the best possible scenario in my mind. People just lol-calm-down and we get back to business.

I was thinking about this while watching the rally earlier today. We're never going to have another presidential candidate like Trump, his campaigns were one of a kind. Nobody else has that right combination of personality, a down-to-earth quality, and the money to fund all this shit.

I think you’re right, at the moment. There aren’t any politicians that make people excited other than Trump. People don’t want to go through what Trump, his family, friends, business associates even people he simply bumped shoulders with years ago have gone through.

A “new” Trump was discouraged before. That could change tho.

It's not really history repeating itself. In 2016 the Democrats were at their strongest and most trustworthy and had the power to completely shape public opinion. eight years later they have proven to the world that they are insane and would put a senile old man on the the throne so they can run amok and destroy everything. Now everyone with half a brain doesn't like them, and everyone with money or power has been burned by them in one way or another. This time Trump will be able to fix as much as he can, or at the bare minimum everything collapses without the corrupted powers gaining control.

We are in the time of Glasnost and Perestroika for America.

Trump was a product of good times meeting bad times, and a decision to say "I've had enough". This is a very rare and very American thing that does not happen. Yet it did. Because Trump had ambition, pride, and enough goofiness to pull it together. And when the chips were down, bullets flying... he never gave up. Trump is what a American truly is.
