It's like he's angry that:Exactly, he puts all of the onus on the gambling on Valve to stop it, but how do you stop it without hurting people who casually get into it and get lucky?
Hell, I have a few pretty valuable skins in my Steam account I got just through sheer luck via opening a case or two when I sell my trading cards. Should I be forced to lose all of that protentional cash because Mommy and Daddy can't stop their kid from stealing their credit card?
- gambling exists as a thing people like to do
- any company exists that will take advantage of the gray zone around gambling that, by his own admission, has existed forever in other markets (which he is not outraged by)
- these same companies don't turn off a free engagement and money spigot for moral reasons
It really is a parenting problem, and that doesn't change no matter how hard technology has made that problem.
