Lol, I wasn't even aware the inauguration was today.

Was busy shoveling snow when my across the street neighbor came to talk to me.
She said "I can't watch TV anymore because of what's going on"
I said "What, about the snow?"
"No, because of the man I don't like entering the White House"
"Oh, that's today? Well, good luck avoiding that, it's going to be everywhere"

Hell, I voted for the guy and I don't give a shit about today.

Something about this just sounds wrong. Great Wall of China worked well enough and it still stands today.
Technically the borders the rio grande river. Give enforcement of the river to the coast guard, the wall to CBP and the relevant ANG units, and allow them to shoot over at the mexican side border and tell the wetback goverment to "come and take it" if they dare.

Now that election mode is over, I'm not going to run guard for Trump. I think it's right to be skeptical/suspicious/tentative about the whole thing because last time he was ineffectual and didn't get much done and barely tried to overcome the stonewalling. But I am tentatively optimistic and hope that he'll accomplish what he says he will. June will be where I check in with myself and evaluate how I'll see the next four years. We'll know by June if he was serious about the mass deportations and the massive changes he plans to make to eliminate the last four years of nonsense.
Huge difference between being skeptical and being a black pilled retard. I was being super over the top leading up to him being sworn in, and I'll give the orange man leeway, but not much. We owe it to ourselves to be tough but fair to him.

Fox just showed Trump talking about the infamous "fence" aka his border wall. Apparently he wanted concrete, but his staff told him they needed the fence-like design to prevent people from climbing on top of it(which didn't work since the migrants either dug underneath it or literally just climbed over it with the use of a ladder).
Do we have any architects in here? Something about this just sounds wrong. Great Wall of China worked well enough and it still stands today.
A wall is a deterrent, you need security for it to be effective. Everyone can technically climb fences yet we still use them. Israel has a wall, China had a wall, Haiti has a wall, they all work quite well.

It's easier to shoot the five Mexicans trying to dig through than thousands of them all crossing at the same time because there is no wall whatsoever.

Not really. Today there are massive holes in the great wall because being stone, its not easily repaired and degrades over time to the weather. With a fence, you can swap shit out, and better, you can see on the other side of it.

We're already at war with them, yet we've done nothing except take it up the ass instead of actually fighting back. This is only a forever war if we don't kill the bad guys, IE as Trump has shown by targeting the actual leaders of the Taliban instead of dumbfuck farmers with AKs. Same principle applies, make these cartel guys worry that their pretty mansions will end up craters and watch how fast this shit stops.
worked pretty well for israel in their war against hezbollah.

The story I remember is Trump wanted concrete, but the Border Patrol wanted fence-like slats and specific features, so that they could physically see who is on the other side of the wall. The eventual design was Trump going with what CBP wanted, which doesn't look as impressive but apparently it's effective.

However, like everyone learned from the Great Wall of China, walls or fences don't help if they aren't patrolled by trustworthy guards.

Sorry, only Israel can have a working wall. We get to have a gay fence that doesn't work.
If Trump is serious about this term, this should be his priority. He should add turret guns and a moat filled with alligators while we're at it, literally anything will do as long as it prevents spic from getting across as far as I am concerned.
