Tariffs do not achieve the goal of "supporting American jobs"
That's the point
It's like saying that going Green is going to save the climate
A blatant lie that is being told to you out of malice and/or ignorance

There is no consistent and sound logic linking "tariffs" and "supporting American jobs"
Any pretend or ostensible logic is flawed and misguided if you examine it properly
Item in US costs $10 to sell.
Same item made abroad and shipped to US costs $8 to sell.
The result is the manufacture of the US item is undercut, and the manufacturing moves abroad because it can't compete with cheaper products.
Well designed tariffs, at least, equalize the cost to the consumer so the items cost the same.
Now, the US manufactured item is sold competitively, and there is less of an incentive to move the manufacturing of that item abroad.

Please, enlighten me, how am I wrong? Are you going to say that there will be reciprocal tariffs put in place so that US manufactured items can't compete with foreign manufactured items abroad? Well, I don't see why our merchant marine should be protecting and maintaining those foreign countries' trade, then. Or why we should be acting as the de facto national defense for many of those countries. Or why we should be providing billions in foreign aid, giving their youth carte blanche educational visas to attend our premier universities, or any of the other things that are of massive financial benefit to them.

Little Marco got confirmed by the Senate!

This EO signing was peak Trump so fucking good.

Really a genius move to put Little Marco into his cabinet.

A MAGA Senator replaced him in Florida, and if he's the dedicated RINO that so many conservatives fear, then Trump will fire him and he has no office to return to.

I know people mock the "4D Chess" stuff, but this pick is truly a chess move. I don't hate Marco Rubio (as of now), but this is absolutely putting him to the test, and if he fails, then he's not going to be our problem anymore.

Any word on the no tax on overtime?

Not to powerlevel; myself and most of my friends are younger guys who get absolutely assraped come tax time, and who are typically lower propensity voters. If Trump really follows through on this, I truly think he will cement conservative support from the younger generation, especially in conjunction with the '17 tax cuts.

You sound like the retards who cry about prevailing wage. I'd rather pay an extra 100 bucks for my Nintendo Soytch 2 and have it be made in America than save a hundred and literally enrich my enemies.
I don't think they will bother with cheap chink consoomer things.

You go after heavy industry and durable goods. You go after cars.
Look at the energy costs in the EU now. British steel is fucking dead. With EU's energy costs now we have a chance to finally hammer the last coffin nails in the eurpoor automotive industry. Just a 10 or 20% tariff will likely push them over the edge and close their factory's for good.
You can sell Toyotas and VW's in the USA, but they gotta be made here.

The Jan 6th people should really start suing over the fact that their constitutional right to a speedy trial was breached.
Fat cursor clicked on "disagree" for a split-second, in which case, if I have to disagree with this statement, it would be that they should instead be allowed to fedpost and fedpost hard. If anyone deserves to fedpost without consequence, let it be them.
