As a connoisseur of dance, that one is done with a pointed finger. Also that one is combined with the elbow in opposite motion. It doesn't really look much like that.

Also that dance isn't preceded by talk of victory. This has a real "hail victory" kind of aesthetics. Sieg hail literally means hail victory.
Oh, okay. I don't know much about Nazi salutes (or Roman salutes).

Someone should use AI to make a gif of Elon doing the staying alive dance.

Fuck yes.

Like every 90s sci-fi series, it has a few cheesy stinker episodes, a lot of monster-of-the-week episodes, and some understandably archaic special effects. But the writing is great, the humor is excellent and never feels distracting from the action, and you'll fall in love with the characters, especially O'Neill, Teal'c, Hammond, Bra'tac, Jacob/Selmak, Senator Kinsey, and Colonel Maybourne.

Honestly, one of the best series in history.
Counterpoint: the first couple of seasons (which ran on Showtime before the series jumped from pay cable to Sci-fi Channel) are pretty bland and play shit straight, combined with the drama that happened with Michael Shanks.

Shanks was a he-man type who took the job playing a sissy nerd purely as a paycheck and hated every minute of it and told everyone on set he DESPISED how he got type casted from the role and the fans of tbe show who thought Shanks was a sensitive soy boy like his character. He bailed on the show first chance he could when his contract ran out but by this point. But his replacement, Coren Nemic (aka Parker Lewis from Parker Lewis Can't Lose) flopped so badly and fans in open revolt, that Sci-Fi channel basically paid him a kings ransom to come back and to change the show to be more tongue in cheek and meta and let his character be more butch and manly and then kept renewing the show to annoyance.

Ironically it's the post Shanksreturn/sci-fi channel episodes that most people think of when they think of Stargate ironically enough. The early Showtime episodes aren't bad but it's the post appeasing Shanks to shut up the fan base episodes most people remember, purely because they ran along side the Battlestar Galactica revival abd their light hearted nature appealed to people turned off by BSG's grim dark nature.

We don't know what roman salutes were like; the nazi salute was based on a painting of romans made like 1000 years after the western roman empire fell. And it isn't even clear in that painting if it's a salute or someone is reaching out to receive swords.

I don't know much about nazi salutes either, but I know enough that this looks like spastic attempt at one. If it was in a random moment I might be giving more benefit of doubt, but he was in that moment talking about "this is what victory feels like". With victory being a word he used multiple times in that relatively short speech, it's kinda unmistakable. The meaning of such an action is of course easily debated, but it's hard to deny that is what it was, particularly since he makes the motion twice as well.

I know the painting you're talking about, I can see it; it's of the Horatii right? Couldn't tell you the painter though.

Many such cases. Truth is German High Command has been in full control of the US government for many decades, after successfully escaping to Neuschwabenland - beyond the Antarctic ice wall.
Do these all look the same to you? I think Adolon Muskler did it a bit differently.

Does anyone know PRECISELY when "punk" turned into "pussy?"
It irrevocably turned pussy when Nimrod and Enema of the State came out. Though Green Day irrevocably damned itself, Tom Delonge at least got a redemption arc with Angels and Airplay which is funny as everyone expected Mark Hoppus would have been the one to grow tired of playing juvenile shit, not Tom.

Fun fact, the guy who played Vivian normally played said sack pussies and geeks. To the point when I saw him in other roles, like in Bottom, I couldn't believe it was the same guy who played Vivian.

Wait until you see how americans did the pledge of allegiance right up until during the second world war.

Now that's a nice high Roman. The reason I think that painting is just a sword reach is look at all these politicians who are just accidentally throwing these around, let alone people throwing them intentionally. It just feels good to go nice and high with it, that's natural.

Really? Because I fucking love Enema of the State and the two albums that followed it up. Green Day's American Idiot too.

You mean the series made by the same guy that co-created the Netflix LGBTQ+ extravaganza Sens8 with the Wachowski Trannies?

Rumor has it that JMS's original pitch was PG rated and only when the Wachowskis came onboard, that they bullied JMS into making the show X-rated/gay as fuck on the guise that the original vision JMS had was "boring" and turning it into a porno would bring in viewers.

Farscape was Australian, so it was fundamentally retarded.
The Australian flavor was part of its charm...

Warren Ellis said it best when he described Farscape as "An American pilot stranded in Australia who falls into the Australian leather fetish scene and slowly goes insane".
