Newpipe has been temperamental for me for a couple of days now. It still works and loads videos but sometimes I have to retry a few times before it does. Very fucking annoying.Trying to use both NewPipe and Grayjay the past few days, and both the apps and the website will only play a single vid, then say "content is unavailable" or just have a black screen. YouTube cracking down on the alts again?
Seems so. And it seems YT is going after Invidious again, with instances usually not working. Also, there are only 3 Invidious instances on the list (it was dozens before).YouTube cracking down on the alts again?
PipePipe (A fork of NewPipe) appears to be staying ahead of YouTube's latest spergouts, but they have to keep coming up with new releases to compensate for YouTube's temper tantrums. All of Invidious' instances have been rendered unusable on-and-off though these past few days.Trying to use both NewPipe and Grayjay the past few days, and both the apps and the website will only play a single vid, then say "content is unavailable" or just have a black screen. Seen no issues with FreeTube (despite no updates). Nor have I had any problems with YT-DLPTrying to use both NewPipe and Grayjay the past few days, and both the apps and the website will only play a single vid, then say "content is unavailable" or just have a black screen. While YT may have a lot of computing resources, they likely have a staff full of "diversity hires" who were hired for "identity" and "diversity" over skill. The other side has a number of people with coding skills who work on all those YT-related projects for free. It's a battle of attrition and YouTube will eventually run out of "bullets"
Also, Google's programmers have to use the on-site dilation station from time to time, so that is also wasted productivity on their part. While YT may have a lot of computing resources, they likely have a staff full of "diversity hires" who were hired for "identity" and "diversity" over skill. Some of those 'bullets' will also make niggercattle stop watching, which makes them risky or unusable from YT's standpoint. There is no such loss condition for the (ch)adblockers, they are already working for free. While YT may have a lot of computing resources, they likely have a staff full of "diversity hires" who were hired for "identity" and "diversity" over skill. Thanks for mentioning this, it works great.PipePipe (A fork of NewPipe) appears to be staying ahead of YouTube's latest spergouts
Worked fine for me with stable@2025.01.12 just now. stable@2025.01.15 is out. That still works too.I keep getting "video unavailable" errors on yt-dlp
If you are on mobile data, you are default behind CGNAT which means you are sharing that IP with any number of other clients which could have tripped some kind of filter.Youtube has gone nuclear. When I try accessing the site I get redirected to a Google.com page that simply says, "[o]ur systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. Please try your request again later". No attempts to download anything, no leaving my machine on for extended sessions with advertiser unfriendly videos, things have gone from 'fine' to 'auto redirect to another site' in hours.
Screencaps omitted because am on mobile and the Google site included my IP address in the error message.
