I genuinely do wonder what his thought process was, assuming there was one and he didn't carry out the first impulse he had.

My guess is that he thought doing a Roman salute would be wacky and edgy (and really popular with the cool kids on twitter), and that he could BTFO the lying media about it, but then he stuffed up the gesture horribly like the spastic he is.
Secondary guess is that he's just an out and out attention whore and wanted to make sure that some of the headlines on Trump's big day were about the actually important guy.

He simps for the AFD in Germany so I think he knew exactly what he was doing. He was trying to be an edgelord from 2015 4chan and his autism made him look retarded

Did we ever figure out if Elon Musk actually the president? Or has that already been memoryholed?

There's no chance that the guy talking in those videos was German. That is a South African accent, which sounds exactly like Elon. Anyone who believes that person is not Elon likely has autism so bad that they can't distinguish voices
The only reason I think it might not be him is because adrian actually spoke coherently while elon can't go more than three words without stuttering.

It's not that serious, man. Just posting a link to this particular cow's Liquid saga.

Since I am also all in on that bet, I was satisfied seeing him sperg out on inauguration day - that alone was proof enough that he's really the type of guy to go on stream like that. Plus that whole gamer cred debacle.

Left has good form, but a little too high, I think - and shit tier drib. Right has shit form and is a spazz - into the oven of history they go!

I'm not a body language expert or a language expert but I have some sense of reading both. These were my observations during his speech, I invite anyone to add or detract from them with anything I may have missed.

He is incredibly excited. But he also wants a response from the crowd. We know he's looking for validation from the whole diablo/path of exile thing. He tries a couple of different things to get a response, some things work some things don't. At one time he's starting to talk loudly and he notices the crowd isn't with him. He calms down a bit to start building it back up. His words though are very telling. "This is what victory feels like". His focus is on how this experience is going for him personally, what feelings it's giving him. Each time he tries to get a response with something physical whether slamming on the pulpit, or doing his spastic little dance, which would have been the highlight if he hadn't sieg heiled, you can see that he's uncoordinated with it, but also that it kinda overpowers him. All solo sportsman and women have the same problem that it's actually very hard to physically express that excitement on your own.

I think both your interpretations have merit. I think he means it wacky and edgy, but also as a nod to the irony bro nazis, not so different from 2015 /pol/ as @Hollywood Hulk Hogan said.

In some ways his speech reminds me of Jeb Bush's "please clap". Elon is about as spastic as Jeb was pathetic. Both were approaching it from a needy position. Elon was really looking for that response, that's what his words and body language seems to tell me. And every response wasn't big enough so he kept trying to make it bigger. Like when he suggests planting the flag on another planet. Just doing it once isn't enough. He seems like he's completely carried away.

As for media manipulation, I already noted that conservative australian news put their logo exactly over his salute so you can barely see it. But Fox went further and edited it out:

Of course. Rupert Murdoch doesn't want Trump's buddy being outed as an edgelord nazi
The other aussie outlet blurred it but called it, which is the smartest seeeming move for DNC puppets, - the sly cencorship is right-wing coded, imho - because they then let their viewer's imagination do the job of him doing even more of an unmistakable Hitler salute, thus fueling the salt production of the left, which the RNCs speds will then lap up by the gallon - as intended from the get go. I really don't know why the anglo left is this much special needs. Just leaving it at nothing burger would be the correct thing to do here. It's like inviting a vampire over your doorstep... again and again.

Very smart propaganda move, honestly.

Another side effect could be - since they all do it now - that the book on arm gestures counting as blur-worthy is now extended by silent but public consensus, retconning whatever elon did there as an actual hitler-salute. I hate it when media does these things.
