It is because he so thoroughly put them in their place. He won every demographic and improved across the board. They cant claim the high ground on race or sex. Everyone loves him more than their guy. They tried to kill him and arrest him and it made him more popular than ever.

They are so cowed now. I went to the inauguration and was all over DC and the greater area of Maryland and NOVA while wearing my trump hat.
