Not Just Bikes / r/fuckcars / Urbanists / New Urbanism / Car-Free / Anti-Car - People and grifters who hate personal transport, freedom, cars, roads, suburbs, and are obsessed with city planning and urban design

You don't need a truck because you can carry a single sheet of pre-cut plywood on the side of your bike:
They do so much coping.

Not a full sheet of plywood, it's cut up (looks like a Lowe's so they'll do that for you. I shop at Menards and they expect you to be a bit more pro, so you'd have to bring your own saw)

Only 1 "sheet"

Slower

More dangerous by far for both him and anybody he cycled by.

"See CHUDS, you never need a car!"

I'm a bit more amazed by the carfucker being a model railroader, to be honest, the average age of those autists is about 99.
Not surprising tbh, their obsessed yet retarded understanding of how useful trains is pretty on-brand for Model train autists, not to PL but I have such a genuine hatred for those fucks because of how they have poisoned the view of trains/modelling in general, they make the shows insufferable and shit up any mention of train related things with their bullshit, especially the AGP trannies, that if you even mention anything close to enjoying trains people immediately write you off as a spastic.

There is so much cool shit out there that you can't talk about in polite company without being lumped in with them.

Are they genuinely that stupid? Of Course the city has to fix illegal shit first, otherwise people will just assume they are all illegal and they will have constant fights over tickets. It's just begging for people to fight the tickets pointing out that it wasn't officially done and not within the law regardless if it was actually done by the city or not...

Like holy shit how is this even an issue, I dunno about SF but everywhere else I've been it's always illegal to park within a car length at a minimum of an intersection, how did they need a special law to implement basic road design shit, let alone have retards who apparently can afford spray paint, but not a fucking measuring tape, also imagine their rage if car drivers did the same by spraying grey paint over the red to illegally park...

Im curious to know how much time it took him
I love how it reads like a gripe post but he wants people to give him an updoot and a sticker for lugging a single sheet of plywood on a dead e-bike
He posts to /r/statecollege and has stated he lives in Centre Co., PA. It's a small-ish college town and has two big hardware stores on the edge of town. The blue (not orange) carts suggest Lowe's, and in Google Maps an apartment complex is right across the street from Lowe's. Notice that he didn't give the distance he cycled; he probably literally took a quarter mile distance and then used as a flex about "not needing a car". There's also actual houses to the west, again, a short distance away.

So much for the Gym of Life ™️ and streets belonging to the pedestrians.

KF Fuck cars 77.png

Why do I have to walk a mile?

Why are the streets full of animals, retailers, people, and bikers? Why can't the streets just be for me and those I like?

Never mind what we supported previously.

People are trying to circumvent congestion pricing:

Yes, use a Sunday / Farmers market right before the Christmas holiday that is only open for six hours and compare that to making a road car free for infinitely longer periods to time.

The car free road 96.5% of the time.

SUVs and CUVs are an attempt to recreate the 1920's car, because people enjoy comfortable seating positions, ride height and ground clearance more than lying on your back in a flat little coffin for MAX AERO
As someone that made the move from fast hatchbacks and sports cars to a lifted midsize pickup last year, I love all of this shit. Add a super comfortable ride, the ability to drive damn near anywhere you want and the ability to carry all manner of dirty/awkwardly sized cargo in the bed while toting five people in the cab if needed and I totally get the appeal.

Is it as fun to drive? Hell no. Is it more useful more often, particularly for camping and fishing trips? No question.

I think their thought is that a car-free street would become a permanent farmer's market that is open year-round and even at odd hours when nobody wants to work. Also in big cities with weekend farmers' markets that just means that parking is pushed around and makes the surrounding streets less pedestrian friendly.

Plus, part of the idea of the weekend farmers' markets is it is something special and not just arbitrary or common. Part of this is that they also tend to be expensive as well, which alright as it is a special occasion after all.

...you guys do realize that's clearly the work of a methhead....?

Like, I've repeatedly seen methheads do that in Oklahoma. They tie pallets of shingles or flooring (why do all methheads work in roofing/flooring?) to a dolly, which they than attach to their beat up bikes, than somehow manage to peddle away without a fuck in the world.

It sounds like your methheads are smarter, even. Since they use dollies and carts behind their bikes to carry more in a better way than even this retard did. They're always going out of their way to make things harder for the sake of bragging about how much they suffer for the Cause.

Now I love 20s cars, I'm all for it. Especially cars without FUCKING IPAD INTERIORS.
And cars reliant on fucking software updates.

Traveling in -16F (not sure why he's using C as he's clearly in the Midwest) on a bike for trains? Autism truly knows no bounds. Wearing anything other than ice boots when you plan to be outside in that shit isn't ingenuity, it's dangerous and stupid. There's a reason places like this are car centric. I'm honestly surprised nobody stopped to do a wellness check on this guy, if I saw someone outside biking without proper wear in these temps I'd think they're having a mental health crisis or cracked out on drugs.

"It's only a 30 minute walk"! Okay, and? Most people don't want to waste time walking for 30 minutes to get to work if they don't have to, that's a significant amount of time. Just because you don't value your own time and like to waste it doesn't mean everyone should waste their time as well. Why use a boat to cross the ocean when you could just swim?

I live there.

And that's the only part of town that's flat enough to do that with nominal inconvenience.

What MapQuest doesn't show at first glance is, this being Pennsylvania? There are a lot of hills around here that makes biking with any kind of load a no-go.

It was also a balmy -11 out there today. And that's not even close to how cold it can get.

You still gonna try that shit when we get to, say, -25 with wind chill in FARENHEIT? And snowing too? And the plow drivers just LOVE non compliant traffic when trying to clear the street.

There are dummies who will try to pass an active working plow festooned with lights and with obvious large blade plows hanging ten feet off both sides of it in a CAR. Where they'll at least survive the ensuing crash.

They literally might not even notice if they run over a bike.

That's an edit on top of an edit, the original one was car-sharing, not public transportation. In a few years it may be completely unrecognizable.

I don't think he's a methhead given his description of his clothing (meme shoes) and other stuff (model railroading, Reddit brain syndrome), just a douchebag who thinks he's "owning" all those carbrains by "proving" he can carry a single sheet of plywood back to his apartment.

One of his posts stated that farmers from rural PA used railroads to get their goods to Reading Terminal Market, which is not true at all, farmers from surrounding areas used horses and wagons to go the main market, which then was distributed on trains.
