Plagued Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

I wouldn't actually buy anything with intent on AliExpress though, especially computer parts or memory as it's all counterfeit garbage that is nowhere near the advertised capacities.
ya that's bullshit. I run mem ssds m.2s in three of my pcs all ali stuff np and performing as expected no outliers but you can't just order the cheapest thing. Put in some time see what there is and use your mind. sure you can be taken for a fool but only dumbfucks actually are. kinda like shopping everywhere else.

edit
informative reference to those shitty phonegames they offer I mean when you collect the 60 points daily you are there anyway. may as well collect the 77 cents.

Out of wall space for your funko pops? The secret is that you just need to start attaching them to the ceiling.

Not really dollar store related, but IKEA also does this, with their weird maze stores where they funnel you through everything in the store until the checkout. I've never checked for fire exits so I'm not sure if there is one visible from anywhere, but it seems it could be confusing and the design of the store could force someone in the direction of the fire.
They hide quite a few "shortcuts" between sections. They look (at first glance) like "employees only" doors but they're not actually labeled as such, and you're free to just push through them (they're the "flappy" kind of door with no knob). You can cut out more than half the "planned route" by doing so. The double doors separating the main entrance from the "marketplace" (i.e. where you get a cart and actually pick stuff out) are usually unlocked as well. And nobody really cares if you walk through the checkout lanes directly into the warehouse section either.

You can also go back downstairs to the store entrance quickly even if you've already gone up the famous one-way escalators or used the elevator to go up. They just hide the second floor elevator call button behind a panel that slides up and out of the way.

There's a good number of double-door fire exits (well marked), but they're buried in the visual noise of the store's design and layout, and I guarantee if there's ever a fire upstairs in one of those stores there will be casualties because of it.

Source: was married, dragged far too often to IKEA, got bored and went exploring.

Came across these videos of grown-ass adults fighting tooth and nail over who gets to take the most Pokémon cards home. I know most of these scalpers, but these retards act like rabid animals over this shit. :stress:
i don't think scalpers can be labeled consumers, they're in it for money, cold hard cash, the brand doesn't matter to them this is just a chase to get rich
as much as they are massive assholes, and their behavior is still a part of this terrible market, they themselves aren't the ones taking the product, they're just horrible shameless dealers of it

I'd say they're the ones taking the product if things get so scarce due to their antics that they just squat on shit hiking prices to 400 dollars and then squatting on it till some other 'speculator" buys their thing and then relists it at 100 more. Genuine fucked phenomenon I've witnessed in the post rona world and it's infecting fucking everything. Once scalpers scrape up all stock it becomes "aftermarket" or some dumb shit like that which is now framed as more valuable because reasons.

This is a test of society and we are failing it, everyone who does this should be rounded up and sent to "camp". These are the same people who will try to scam and rip you off during a disaster, they are parasites who will do anything for a dollar.

The fact that they feel no shame is the problem. I get that the days of Pokemon being a hobby strictly for children has long passed but still. These guys are lining up for hours, running around like faggots and even getting physical over cards that are supposed to be for children. I would be so pissed if my kid wanted these cards and this is the type of shit I had to compete with.

Gotta disagree here. Scalpers are a huge component of a lot of consoomerism, these pokemon cards being fantastic examples for a few reasons.

1) The artificial scarcity they create makes the non scalpers foam with fomo fueling their consoomer lust
2) The artificial scarcity created drives up prices to retarded levels which makes consoomers think their retarded choices are good financially further fueling consoomer lust
3) Regardless theyre still going to great lengths to buy worthless plastic

This a huge problem with ANYTHING of limited quantity and becomes pure lunacy when you get into "collectables". Social media and the internet have made it insanely easy for no life neckbeard faggots to monopolize anything of limited quantity sky rocketing the cost. The more consoomerist the target audiance, the worse it is.

You want a good laugh look at the retards who "collect" sneakers aka sneakerheads for how bad things get.

The caption on that first video cracks me up. "The Costco employees just stood back and let people fight." Well no shit, Sherlock. What the fuck do you expect them to do, go full gestapo and start cracking skulls? I know Costco pays their people pretty well, but it still ain't enough to expect them to go hands-on with crazed weasels.

These people are the end result of the "fuck you, I got mine!" society the boomers created.

I think people often gloss over the 4th step in which the consoomers pay the extortion prices because they can't tard wrangle themselves out of it. This causes the scalpers to just keep it on up, but it also is noticed by corporations and distributors who directly start competing with the resellers in terms of their prices. This is what happened with Goodwill.

Every pizza face, neckless, faggot who knows about video games wants to be the one to find the heckin hidden gemerino in the thrift store for $5 so he can brag about it on reddit.

If consoomer retards would just stop paying extortion prices, a lot of the market would settle down I think. Patience is a virtue and more often than not, the thing will be available again for cheaper.

That neglects the scalper retards that keep buying scalper listings and relisting them at higher prices like a week to a month later. Those fuckers need to be put in a situation dire enough to fuck their shit up enough so they stop fucking consooming "investments"with the intent of scalping higher.

they stop fucking consooming "investments"
you can't "consoom" investments, that's like saying a man buying merchandise for his store is a consumerist
they're a part of the system but let's not start using the memespeak for everything we dislike, that's how the term gets muddied

that aside, both are at fault, they're a part of the ecosystem of fuck
if all scalping stopped, but buyers kept buying up no matter the price, urgency or need, then scalping would restart, you can't solve it by stopping it temporarily just like how you can't solve world hunger by feeding everyone, it's a continous problem
if all buyers stopped buying, scalpers would still scalp and hold onto the product forever, until buyers finally crack
both need to be put to a stop at the same time to set a precedent

I'm saying that it's not a proper fucking investment. it's consooming shit en massewith the idea of squatting on it for decades racking up the price to absurd degrees, no respect for that shit, sorry! They've gotten brazen tot he point of fighting over fucking pokemon cards and stalking the people stocking shelves to grab it all and run. It is 100% thoughtless consooming. Alot of consoom is fueled by the same mentality of things being worth something later on in time, it's a big reason why funko pop shit plagues every shelf now as they SOLELY rely on that kindof thinking. It's why people who display consoomer tendencies keep trying to frame everything as "OBSCURE" or "RARE" when they blow hundreds on scalper listings.

being "proper" or not doesnt matter if your metric is success
again, is a shopkeeper "consooooming" because he bought a toy that didn't end up selling?
if it's only consumerism when they actually manage to make a profit, and not consumerism when they don't, that suggests it's not the intent and behavior of the person in question that makes them what they are but rather how lively the market is at that point in time

these people aren't consumers, their only desire to own the item is to sell it, consumers by their nature want to consume, own to own, if money wasn't involved they'd still want the item
a drug dealer isn't a crackhead because he owns crack or buys crack, it's just passing through him to the real crackhead

a drug dealer isn't a crackhead because he owns crack or buys crack
Scalper behavior in the modern era is the equivalent of a drug dealer becoming a bath salts zombie. You cannot look at those fucking videos of scalpers brawling over pokemon cards and act like there's actual non consoom type thought there anymore. It doesn't matter with these fuckers if it actually sells or not, what matters to them is they have all of it.

what matters to them is they have all of it.
then they are, by defenition, not just scalpers, they are scalpers AND consumers, or consumers who also scalp opportunistically
again, it's like calling every dealer a drug addict because some dealers still get hooked on their own supply - no, THOSE specific dealers are druggies, but a dealer isn't a druggie by defenition

you wanna call them consoooooooooomers because you're fond of the word so you want to turn it into a generalized bad word, like a vague "chud" for everyone involved, but it doesn't fit the definition and throwing it around makes it useless, that's exactly how words lose meaning, by becoming pointless generalized buzzwords for everything we dislike
scalpers are bad enough you don't have to try and force a label on them that doesn't fit the bill

There is a difference between a consumer and a consoomer. "consumer" is marketing term for a customer. "consoomer"is someone who hoards shit and buys constantly. Scalpersin recent era are literally consoomers, it's not vague. It's been coveredin this fucking threadconstantly. You are theone trying to make this shit more vague and I'm beginning to have a hunch you may or may possibly have a personal ebay hoard.
