The joke/rumor of Hans being gay has been around since the Musa leak first happened, nothing here is new or unique and that's assuming OP even actually said that. No, the Taliban tried to ban and eliminate it based on Sharia law, but it's a deeply ingrained cultural practice that is specific to Afghanistan. This has been my prediction for a while. The Chinese animation/game market was a joke ten years ago but it has been rapidly advancing in quality over the last few years. There's a whole genre of their version of anime which is based in western-derived cultures with Chinese themes. If the Chinese animation studios ever collaborate with people in the west who want to create a faithful historical work and are willing to do the creative legwork (though the Chinese series have Western window-dressing they're still very much Chinese in character) they could create media that would easily dominate in the West. Black Myth Wukong shows that they can get a toehold even with Chinese content. Our studios are apparently incapable of not jamming incongruous ethnic minorities and modern-day sexual fetishes into every single piece of media, which is severely off-putting in a work that's supposed to be about immersion.
