The sad thing is, the wokesters still won. Sure, the only thing they're good at is infiltrating companies and spreading the toe fungus that is their ideology, but nobody had the ability to stop them. Conservatives sat on their thumbs and let them take over. Why can't we infiltrate and take over things, too? Why can't we take Star Wars back and turn it into "The Adventures of MAGA Chad McBigCock, Galactic PedoHunter"?
Because we never thought to pass laws requiring businesses to hire us and put us in a position of determining who gets hired.

I love when people pretend phrasing like this isn't the bullshit it obviously is.

It does not mean sales. It means that 10-Q report that is coming in soon is revealing financial doom.

A corporation like EA, that is traded on NASDAQ, has to give quarterly reports, specifically 10-Q reports, every financial quarter.

They took a gigantic hit. To the point they can't just lie about it, unless they want to commit huge financial fraud and go to prison.

So that's why they're already admitting it. They have to. There's no wokeshield here.

If I was at Bioware and completely purging the staff was not an option, meaning I'm stuck with dangerhairs for creatives, I would insist on the idea of ditching the famous IPs and take the dustborn route.
You would then be fired. EA milks IPs for every last dollar; new IPs aren't on the table. The reason they let these idpol-pushing weirdos take over game franchises is they promised to double revenue by bringing in women, blacks, and queers.

He's one of the few of the "gamejournopros" sorts who managed to survive the tismcaust and escape into "real" journalism of some sort.
Schreier's entire career is just being the guy the DEI hire snake in your company leaks everything to. His "secret sources" have always been the trannies and dangerhairs who care more about access to a platform and dont give a shit about damaging the game or ruining everything for everyone working there.
He has been tremendously useful to them in return by credulously repeating their spiels about toxic workplaces, reiterating one trannies story as if they're widely held opinions in the company

An alpha kid playing through DA would be like a millennial or zoomer playing through Ultima to see its downfall. If you're digging through grandpa games and playing a dead CRPG series, you're already autistic enough to be able to understand the wider context of why the series imploded.
Contrarian take, Ultima 8 was not as bad as people made it out to be. I didn't mind the book-readins status grind, the Avatar looking like the Black Knight, and the puzzles were okay. I really liked the fire section and summoning the big demon, and how well you did can save or kill the helpers. It was certainly rushed or not fully fleshed out in segments. I enjoyed the cheaper gold box version I got at a garage sale.

Still preferable to infinite jeets, and quite likely will result in a better product too.
Depends on who's prompting.

I'm really surprised EA is so far keeping bioware overall open after releasing three consecutive bombs, and possibly still gambling on the next mass effect. :lossmanjack:
They have shutdown and mistreated other studios for less than this. Like visceral games that made the original dead space games or pandemic the people who made mercenaries and original battlefront games.

>Andromeda is Bioware's last chance
>Anthem is Bioware's last chance
>Veilguard is Bioware's last chance

Think they'll finally be shitcanned? EA has liquidated studios for FAR FAR less, so I remain amazed Bioware is allowed to continue shitting up things. Maybe there's some special backroom dealing or relationship the studio has with EA management that makes things different?
I'm SHOCKED they haven't done so a long time ago, hell they destroyed maxis for less and maxis is infinitely more important than bioware ever was

My guess is triple A executives think picking the nastiest mot resentful blue haired they/them crazies to write their slop will magically attract the youths. It's not even that hard to integrate DEI slop into your shit, just give the player the option to play however he wants while retaining the atmosphere that has been working already for previous games. That worked for BG3, that game was filled to the brim with faggotry but it was bearable because outside two or three plot points it wasn't that noticeable in the story proper. I think the people behind these games are forgetting that they are writting for an audience and not for themselves.

Not to diverge too much from the thread but Ultima 8 was not good. It was very incomplete (less than a quarter of the story was finished which is why it ends abruptly), it completely fucked up the canon, and the amount of actual gameplay in it was nonexistent compared to even its direct predecessor Ultima 7 (no parties, no interesting equipment, no branching quest lines, no real puzzles other than put key into lock etc, no real world simulation, etc.). Instead we get a bad platforming system and absolutely braindead clicky combat.

I can see why maybe it was an interesting enough if you got the patched version for cheap at a garage sale, but Pagan was a $50 game in 1994. You were spending the equivalent of $100 in today's money to buy a game that was not only not anywhere close to complete, not only shat upon the stuff that came before it lorewise, but also literally did not function correctly unless you racked up your phone bill to log into EA's BBS to get the patches to fix the broken platforming mechanic.

It was absolutely as bad as people made it out to be. If Ultima VIII came out today, it'd be another unfinished flop spectacle like NMS or Cyberpunk, except those games eventually became good. EA and Origin just took everyone's money and shrugged their shoulders.

4 was definitely my favorite, and I slogged thru 3. I had heard about the launch bugs but yeah the gold box version worked right out of the box.

So, In my opinion, woke is synonymous with bad writing.

It seems like everyone has different opinions about what "Woke" means" but personally - Woke is when a writer's personal agenda or politics interferes with the integrity and immersion of a story to push their ideology over serving the purpose of the product.
This.
Baldur's gate 3 and disco elysium while good were still hurt by woke shit.

In BG3 everyone is bisexual. You cant tell people that you are not gay, the concept of liking only one sex does not exist in that world. You can only tell each person that you are not interested in them personally.
Not liking shitskins and faggots is worse to them than raping babies.
