How do you fight depression? - Let's help each other

Started doing physical excercises and working out with hand weights I bought.
Still feels bad man but at least I have something else to do except doing wagie 9-5, doing chores, which take my mind off blightful thoughts too unlike procrastinating/jerking off
Doing chores while listening to economics podcasts is like the only productive thing I do.

Also, I'm retaking math through Acellus and I'm breezing through it, hope it can help me with a stable career or in university in the future.
I went through Khan Academy's College Algebra course. Is it similar? It is fun to revisit math concepts you should know. Good for anyone.

I think it's impossible really. I've had to deal with people who've had it, and I could never solve their problems. The best thing you can do is mitigate it by reducing your work load in life, and not do drugs which make it worse.

I bet somewhere, there is some ghetto sheboon actually called Depression and shes gotten into one of those waffle house weave pulling contests.
 
I forgot one thing. Check for CPTSD, even if you had an ok childhood, since victims of it are usually in denial. It is way more common than you think and often gets misdiagnosed as ADHD or autistic spectrum disorder. And depression or bipolar of course. It can also be caused by a plethora of other things.

Accepting that depressive episodes are a part of life, just letting it hit the first couple days, then doing something simple like cleaning or cooking something small (like soup).

What has also helped was going to church weekly and having that after church meal with the fellow parishioners. If you aren't religious, maybe planning a day of the week to go out and meet with friends or acquaintences. Getting out of the house and talking/being with people helps a lot.

in all seriousness the things people said here. keep busy, check vitamin / hormone levels, etc.
 
Like others have said, you sadly have to live with it.

It's one of those things that get better with age. If you can survive the turbulent teens and the disappointing 20s then you will find your severe depression becomes a deathly numbing sensation. Instead of sadness you will mostly feel nothing at all. And that is at least slightly better than feeling a deep misery.

So would say around once you get closer to your 30s and start having a career/money you can kinda number it out. Honestly I want to work out/therapy/meds/dating/travel and hopefully I'll be so busy I don't have time for it

I don't think the career and money are what help get you out of the mire, rather the suffering has gone on for so long that your brain is numbed to it, your synapses can't handle it anymore and fail, and you feel like a zombie, but at least you don't have the strong negative emotions you once had.

i feel like its the opposite if you just keep yourself busy most of the time you can distract yourself from what is making you depressed
