From the videos I've seen deportees are allowed to gather some belongings and arrange someone to take custody of their remaining belongings like furniture their absence. If there isn't anyone trustworthy than your SoL and the landlord will likely dump everything to the curb.

This is of course a dirty solzhenitsyn lie, get raped. Post-Soviet countries which are not Russia or Belarus say they hate Soviets because glowies have been openly at work there for half a century now. But Russia itself loves Stalin, who consistently wins popularity polls, and the economy and public morals (and industry, public health, quality of food, architecture) were doomed by 90s capitalism. Capitalism turned Moscow into one designated shitting city in under 5 years, and it took 20 years to partially clean it up.
