Can you give me a source on this? Every time I try to ask about how much Elliot’s parents hate him, people just go “oh he’s a broken branch”, and never fucking elaborate. As much as LFJ claimed KatLo as an assistant and YoBex as a fellow board member of ENH, I'm willing to bet neither one was treated as an employee or contractor and paid commensurate wages even though LFJ should theoretically be able to afford to pay some sort of stipend to them no matter how nominal. Even if board members for many bona fide organizations receive no compensation, the lack of pay or tangible benefits here bolsters the idea that the titles and prestige LFJ's underlings receive are as real as the points on Who's Line and the only benefits they receive for "working" with/for LFJ is the intangible ability to claim they helped in LFJ's Quixotic efforts to shut down the 'Farms.

If LFJ has tax liability in the US, they could also be trying to avoid gift tax issues associated with giving someone more than $18,000 of gift money in 2024. If not, ignore this paragraph.
