That's why there's been such a push for globohomo immigration in Japan: it drives up domestic consumption and boosts the economy. I don’t know, maybe @Fatpacks was right. I have no idea what Trump is trying to do with these tariffs and I hope it’s a 4D chess move but I feel that even if Canada and Mexico are squealing, I can’t see the positive outcome. Maybe a new USMCA?

And yes the US needs to start doing a lot of things locally and I get how tariffs can promote that, but inflation is already so high people are noticing every penny.

The tariffs are there because they didn't do shit to secure their borders or stop fent. They have already begun to stop those things and have been catching large amounts of fent so the tariffs will likely come off if they continue. China supplies the fent to both of them so until that is 100% stopped those tariffs aren't going anywhere.

Fent is the #1 killer of people 18-45 in our country period and must be stopped. Also remember that 2x the high value targets (terrorists) came through the northern border then the southern border last year so we need that shit secured.

I believe that the problem is systemic. From the control towers to the pilots. We've lost the plot. Aviation is a field with little room for error. The hiring process should be inhumane and machine like. 100% performance based.

It is impossible since disparate impact is the law of the land now. If you have any sort of colorblind system to hire the best and brightest, it will always disfavor minorities and leave them wife open for mass lawsuits which they will ALWAYS lose because it is enshrined in precedent that everyone is exactly the same and any deviation is a sign of racism. I'm kind of torn on Vance for 2028. I like him, but running for as VP for president is cursed. The VP will carry the baggage of the president without taking credit for the positives. I think he'd be better off becoming governor of Ohio then running for president later.
