DOGE is not a department, it's more of a commission from what I can tell. They can basically provide recommendations, but it will be up to the President or Congress (?) to approve them or not. Reagan had the Grace Commission for example.
I doubt they could touch enough stuff to reduce the budget by $2 Trillion. That's like more than all the discretionary spending.
Also, is it just me or I cannot access "doge.gov". I guess it's so cost savingly efficient that they don't even run the servers to save electricity. lol
