It could've just not had a second season and been better off. And by the laws of /co/, since the show got bad, it is no longer a show that should be acknowledged to exist.
Second season has problems, but, I think a lot of it works out alright.
Like the new human characters are great, the problem is I feel like the part on the slave ship drags for way too long, and they interrupted the pacing with the pointless Charles Darwin episode, and the viking guy returning as a flame elemental went practically nowhere.
Tbh I like that there's a plot, because the first season of constant screaming and fights got a little repetitive, but it's a time honored tradition that Genndy can't wrap a show up lol.
I ignored Unicorn: Warriors Eternal because it didn't interest me from what I've seen, but I'm happy he at least managed to make the show he wanted for 20 years good or bad.
What were the issues with the show and what were the good parts?
I'd have to watch it again, the style is amazing, which is par for the course with Genndy, but the characters before they turn into the Unicorn Warriors don't get much development, and even afterward they tend to not have much going on.
The main character is not allowed to do anything cool for most of the show because unlike the other warriors, she is constantly fluctuating between her old identity and her new one, every scene with her is the same. Although she is helped by her husband who is incredibly likable and actually has really interesting stuff going on.
On the opposite end the other warriors kind of stink. The elf guy is an annoying simp, the little soccer kid is clairvoyant and just kind of exposits information, albeit in a more silly manner than a character of his station would. The robot Copernicus is great, no notes for him.
The threat in the show is also not terribly well defined, for the most part it's just evil green flame, it doesn't have the presence that a character like Aku has. All in all I give the show 6-7/10. Animation is a 9/10.
