There is a concept I use with things like this the "crap-to-quality" ratio. General audiences are willing to put up with a certain level of bullshit (poltics, awkward dialgoue, bad story, glitches, jank etc) if the game gives them enough if what they want. BG 2 had gay shit but people like the rest of what it was offering enough to give it a pass. TLOU 2 wasn't good enough to pass that. KCD 2 may be a success. I don't think they helped their cause by fighting with the fans and being two-faced, but if enough people decide this is their new witcher or skyrim. It doesnt matter. I wouldn't dance on his grave until the proverbial body is in the ground.

The gameplay mechanics are still way too complicated for your average niggercattle, this will never be the new Witcher or Skyrim no matter how much Czech Sisters cope about it. More like their Cyberpunk 2077, lmfao
Even with the game's difficulty supposedly toned down for the "modern audiences", it's still every bit as jank as the first game. This will always be a niche title aimed at the biggest historical and RPG nerds, shunning both to appeal to the wider audience is as stupid as comic book writers trying to shun their core audience(white males) in favor of quite literally everybody else. Then, you see entire comic book stores filled with unsold issues, sometimes literally giving that crap out for free just so they can finally make space on the shelf for something else.
Even if the game outsells Veilguard and Avowed, it is still a lolcow game in the same category, king of the shortbus if you will. It will never be a mainstream RPG and it will never be a respected RPG franchise either.

What is even there to fight about? The cat is out of the bag, KCD is now woke. Consoomers cope themselves into bitterly loving their purchase, while fans who were patient, sensed they shouldn't trust Vavra, or believed the leaks were real, managed to save money. That is all.
As I stated before, trying to determine anything based on Steam charts is like reading tea leaves. The game can be a financial failure if they splooged too much on (((marketing))), no matter how many idiots ignored the writing on the wall. We should just wait and see.
