Seriously, think about it: Europe had a major war every few decades until the USA took over. Who's the say we won't get the same result with Gaza? Neither the Israelis nor the Muslims are capable of existing without getting a genocide itch every few years.

Or, alternatively, Trump is talking shit as he is wont to do.

Not a good idea. It's pretty retarded. Whoever suggested this to him should be fired. If you take over the Gaza you inherit all the problems. No one else is going take in 2 million low IQ dune coons. They will want to drop them here in the US or at least part of them.

Yeah, it sucks too because a lot of people like LBJ's Great Society Programs, or even the stuff FDR did, but Democrats are unfortunately stuck in a downward spiral of self-flagellation because of that particular flank of their coalition never letting them celebrate their successes, or owning any possible policy wins. Nothing is ever going to be good enough for them, and the DNC has their work cut out for them in dealing with that.

As someone who likes what LBJ and FDR did (and isn't over 60) the modern DNC pushed us out because "its time for women/gays/blacks" logic has left the room. I really don't like a lot of the republican points (mainly abortion, business and other things which I don't want to derail the thread over). But if the modern DNC keeps going down this weird path, they will become more and more irrelevant. Anyway to keep it back on topic, has anyone seen the online sethe from the left over Trump's announcement?

I think it could work. Lets be real, Israel tried to keep peace by having security forces OUTSIDE the wall. A purely reactive force that only activated when shit got way out of control.

Trump is going to turn Gaza into one giant casino strip, with internal casino security at every street corner.
Think of Gaza as one giant casino complex on the rez, where the local tribe and rez-police handles security.
No one is going to start shit.
Hell, he just hires one of the local hamas sub-gangs at a monthly fee for keeping security: "Make sure no one starts shit, no one is going to ask any questions, you have full autonomy and immunity but keep it out of sight of the tourists and casino patrons."

When i first heard this i first thought "face palm" while also understanding the reason for it. This was the price for the aggressive cease fire demands.

And after thinking about it a little... being an old fag having to hear about this problem/conflict for decades and decades.. peace attempt after peace attempt go down in flames because Pal intransigence over old and newly invented bullshit demands raised just in time to derail... (like a full military one from Clinton's attempt) This isn't going away and the US connection to it isn't either, no matter how many pol and lefty types dream it would. I'm pretty much at "we've tried everything normal and nothing's worked, what have you got?" :/

You know what we haven't tried? Doing nothing at all. If we stopped writing Israel a blank check, Israel would either hammer out a lasting peace or they'd do a Final Solution to their Palestinian problem. Personally I don't care what they do as long as it doesn't lead to another shitflow of rapefugees or cost my taxpayer money. I don't think most Americans care either. Gaza is Israel's problem. Just don't waste my money or send the Gaza people to developed countries and we're good.

Occupying Gaza is somehow the only worse option than funding Israel. Now we get to fund Israel AND yet another failed war in the sandbox. We get to stop paying American government employees taxpayer money that goes right back into our economy so we can instead fund some corrupt Israeli contractors to rebuild that shithole known as Gaza all while Americans dumb enough to volunteer for ZOG get blown up with IEDs. And I'm sure we'll be paying for billions of dollars in propaganda ops in Gaza once we locate a suitable puppet dictator. Hell, maybe next Democrat administration they'll make Gaza a territory and put them on the welfare rolls and let them immigrate to the US just like Garbage Island aka Puerto Rico.

Anyone supporting this, Trump included, has not thought about it for more than 2 seconds. Beside whichever neocon pitched it to Trump as a way to get us back into the sandbox.
