Thoughts on why Gen Z is not drinking alcohol?

Younger generations drink less alcohol because energy drinks are not considered adult beverages and they drink less alcohol because they are taking pills, which don't count as real drugs.

It is all a mirage. They get totally trashed but in ways that society has not yet caught up with. The dirty secret is that a lot (no joke your Mom or your sister could be on it and lying, it is everywhere) of people of all ages are abusing Xanax or other drugs like alprazolam.

Well yes, pill poppers have been around for a loooooong time. But never has there been a generation like Gen Z that avoids drinking alcohol.

Most bars here are full of young people
But are they drinking alcohol or vaping or doing something else?

In the video I posted, the English guy said that nightclubs in England are closing at the rate of 1 per week due to a lack of patrons.

why do people make everything a generational issue
Everything? Why do some people feel the need to paint with such broad brush strokes?

Gen Z is all fags. Fags love alcohol.

The clubs aren't closing because of people not drinking. It's because people don't socialize the same way as before. Why spend a bunch of money to go to the club and buy expensive drinks in hopes of hooking up with someone at 1 am when you can just go on a hook-up app and find a fuck buddy?

A long time ago, there were like 3-4 "grown up" drinks. Now there're hundreds of options. As mentioned already, it leans more toward caffeine than alcohol.

Also, drinking just isn't as cool when all the adults in your life are drinking constantly. This younger generation has been inundated with it. It's no longer cool or taboo.

I only need a few sips of an alcoholic drink and I'm satisfied, whereas many of my family members were obnoxiously addicted and it just gets old. You inevitably start associating those habits with lame geezer passtimes, like cable TV.

Never have there been this many people on pills. They look you right in the eye and lie about it to your face. It is everywhere.

You act like the 70s never existed and quaaludes weren't a thing, LOL.

Or the 2000s pill mills, perhaps?

America was always a pill popping nation, since about the 50s or 60s

And who cares? Alcohol is poison, the worst social evil in history. If future generations lost their taste for it, it would only be a net benefit to mankind.
That's just not true. Many great men drank. Nixon drank, McCarthy drank, JFK drank, LBJ drank, Dollfuss drank, Franco drank. Name one good teetotaler.
